I found Lexington Landing very welcoming. They had excellent accommodations for small dogs. My one concern is that it's not very walkable to coffee shops, etc. What I like best, that's personal, is they have a fenced-in dog park and they're immediately across from Crosby Park, one of the finest parks in Minnesota. It's immediate. It's one large street with a red light where you can cross to a spectacular park. I know they have a book club, a gym, and they have two to three classes a day, and instructors coming in. It's a five-star community. One of the interesting things is that they connect the buildings by a magnificent skyway, which is all sunny in the winter, and that's just an excellent feature.

My sister is in the Lexington Landing memory care unit. It's great. They have two or three restaurants, an exercise room, and a hotel on the top floor. It's a fabulous place. They have a secured area for their memory care. For the assisted living, they have a restaurant, a lounging area, and a sitting area with books and stuff like that. They have a little garden in the back and the gate is locked and secured. It's nice. The staff is wonderful. A couple of times when I was there, they had music. They take the assisted living people out on trips. They have a bus. On memory care, they had a book time like a session. I stood back and listened to a little bit. They have resource people coming in to do this. They have posted on the door all the activities and the menu for the week. If the person is capable of ordering their own food, they can order from the menu. Everybody that I talked to was just excellent. It was immaculate. It was great. That's why we chose it. It's clean. Everything is so in place. It's just wonderful. From looking at the schedule, and the activities looked pretty good to me. We compared seven or eight other places, and the prices are about the same as the better memory care places. They have a beauty shop upstairs, and they have a spa day where they do nails, pedicures, and manicures.

Lexington Landing was a beautiful facility. It had all the amenities my mom was looking for and they have space available within the next couple of months. In the end, my mom decided she wanted to look at a couple of other places from within the Edina area, as opposed to this one being in St. Paul. We toured their independent living and it was excellent. The staff was extremely helpful and they were excellent as well. My sister and I loved it. I like all of their amenities. They also have a little shuttle. My mom doesn't drive so the shuttle would be able to take her to church or if she wants to go to the grocery store or things like that and I like that. They had a restaurant inside so she could buy her food right there if she decided to go there. They had a lot of activities there so the people that live there could take part in the different activities. There wasn't anything I disliked about it. The apartments were nice. The ones we looked at were about a thousand square feet, with one bedroom and one bathroom. They were newer because it's a new building so that was another bonus, which was to be on a new property with new appliances and everything. As for the location, I don't mind where it was placed but my mom kind of wants to be in the middle of all of her 4 daughters, and so this place is leaning more towards one of the daughters. She liked it, but she also wants to just look around at the ones that are closer to or within the Edina area, which is where she is currently.
