I was able to visit Mill Creek Assisted Living. We got a lot of good information. We were very impressed with it. One of the best things was they have medical staff that are readily available. They also have a doctor that comes monthly or twice a month, the staff said. There is someone who can administer pills, and they have transportation to the hospital in case the person needs to go or to doctor's appointments. That is what we liked best. The facility was nice. I didn't try the food, but the staff gave us a menu. It looked very good. It was not top-end restaurant, but it was good. It was food that I would be very happy with. They had options in case there was something you couldn't eat. They had a barbershop onsite, which I liked. They had someone that comes in twice a month for nail trimming, if people need their toenails trimmed and things like that. They had laundry. Residents can do their own laundry or if need be, someone could do it for them (if they need to have assistance).

Mill Creek Assisted Living was more somber and not nearly as light and refreshing. They were preparing to get on a bus to go and get ice cream, and so everybody was all excited about the trip to the ice cream store. There was not a lot of interaction. The person who gave the tour was satisfactory. It was like when they used to take you to your hotel room. The place was clean. There wasn't very much interaction between the staff and the residents. I think that was because they were all getting ready to go for ice cream. Everybody's attention was on something else.

I have a friend that has her mother-in-law at Mill Creek, so I went there with her to visit it. They have coffee and a homemade bakery where you could help yourself and that was really good. I know they cook all their food on location too. Everything is cooked homemade fresh in that place. Their apartments were very nice, much nicer than the other facility. They did have a lot of activities. I've checked out their list, and they were pretty comparable with the other facility. They had good security too. Mill Creek was very nice.
