My dad moved into Gladwin Pines. The staff is wonderful, and they go above and beyond. The meals are good, and they make sure he eats if he wants to. His room is a good size, there's an air conditioner, the bathroom is always clean, and he's got windows and a bird feeder. They have church services, bingo, and they have some kind of activity every day.

The rooms are ok. The food was ok. The staff was less than helpful. My father went from Gladwin hospital into the Gladwin Pines. From day one the staff was extremely rude. They did not offer any sort of expectation for my parents as to what would happen once my father was moved there. They did not provide any assistance to my father when he needed help to go to the bathroom. He cannot walk on his own and waited over 35 minutes for help and ended up soiling himself. This was not a one time incident It happened continually during his stay. Now he is being discharged and my mother was told she would meet with the discharge planner and they would help my mother get things ordered for my father so he could go home. When the discharge planner came into the room she was very rude to my mother and told my mother she did not help with those things and the only thing they would do is order home health to start back up and that home health would need to order things. I really am disappointed in the treatment that my family received and I would never again send a loved one to this facility.

Gladwin Pines has nice, big rooms, but they have memory care mixed in with everybody else. They don't have a big activity room where we could have a family gathering, but they have a conference room. They didn't have a beauty salon in the building; they take them out instead. They weren't real bad, but I didn't care for it. The staff was OK; they were just wondering what memory care was. They didn't have anybody specifically to take me around.

I would have to turn this place down when it comes to the care those patients receive. The nurses and aides provide great care when they have the time to provide it. These employees run around from start to end of their shifts. I have witnessed a call light not being answered for over an hour. As for the cleanliness of this place... I wouldn't even allow my animal to eat a crumb off the floor. How this place has not been closed down is beyond me. If you plan on placing a loved one in this facility plan on spending your days there caring for their needs.

I was a Certified Nurses Aid for years and had finally achieved my degree for a Medical Assistant. Of all the places I've worked and the person to provide care; to receive the most excellent of service from this facility is what helped heal me after a tremendous ordeal of being sick. Everybody from the Director of Nursing down to the kitchen staff was concerned and sincerely cared for all the residents in this facility. Social workers were available for any requests. Doors were always unlocked for families, in which the could see their family member's whenever. If I had to go back to any facility, I'd choose this for myself and for my parent. I have complete confidence in them.

In my personal opinion, this facility is well managed and was quite nice. The facility seemed to have a hospital-like setting, however it was clean and things seemed to be in their place. The staff, Nurses and Aids alike offered assistance to the residents in a timely manner with respect and courtesy. As far as having a home-like setting, this facility was lacking a little bit. I believe that this facility provides rehabilitation services as well as short and long term residency. If one is looking for a home like setting I would suggest looking further however. The front desk personel could have used a little bit more warmth. The dining room for the residents feels like it has a cafeteria like setting. with a little re-decorating, i believe it may be able to seem more home like for residents. This would increase daily food intake for those that may need it. Overall, this is a very nice facility and if I were looking to utilize a nursing home for a friend or loved one, this one would be on my list of possibilities for residency.
