"We liked Sterling House because it was a small community, not a whole lot of people. I think it would be nice if my mom eventually did go into assisted living. The dining area was nice. We were very impressed. The staff was very polite. They explained all the questions that we had and gave us some information that we needed. "

"My sister is at The Landings of Kaukauna. The staff is very nice and very accommodating. My sister came from a facility in Oklahoma where they were locked out of their rooms. But here at The Landings of Kaukauna, their doors are open, and they can come and go as they please. My sister has a nice comfortable room. She has more room than she probably even needs. It's very nice and comfortable. They will take her to her room if she wants to watch TV. She can sit in her chair, or be out in a common area with other people. They're very accommodating to her. For some reason, she does not like to get up very early in the morning. But they let her sleep in if that's what she chooses to do, so they work around her schedule. She seems very comfortable there. Overall, the staff members have been very good. The facility is very clean and very attractive. With regards to activities, they have singers come in and they do some gardening. However, my sister doesn't participate in a lot of activities. They have a salon. They have a theater room with a big screen, and that's where they do their exercises, and they can watch movies with their popcorn. They have an outdoor courtyard so they can go outside and sit within a fenced-in area. I have also taken my sister for a walk on their boardwalk with plants and such. It's a nice little garden. There is also a private room. If they want families to come in, they have privacy right there."

"I liked everything about Bella Vista. There wasn't anything that I didn't like. The thing is that I need assisted living because I'm legally blind. I have macular degeneration in my eyes, and I cannot see the writing on my prescription bottles, even with glasses, to get my pills out to see what I'm doing. So I have to have assistance with my medications, that's all that I need assistance with. I like the idea that we would have all those extra activities like bingo, Friday fish fries, and happy hour. I like those. It was also homey to me. I even put money down on a room. The staff member who gave the tour was really good. She was Katherine, and she took us through. We were there later in the morning, and she treated us to lunch. My daughter and I had lunch there, and it was very good. The food was great. It was very good tasting. From what I remember, we ordered what we wanted, and it was great. The dining area was wonderful. You were able to sit where you wanted to. You can converse with other people. It was really nice. The tables were close enough so you could talk to the table next to you. I usually cut my own hair, and there I have the beauty shop I could go to. The price they charged in the beauty shop was very good."

"I took a tour of Lakeshore Manor. The manager was very nice, it was a clean facility with friendly people. I would consider them. We looked at their memory care unit, and that would be one place we'd recommend that others could look at. It was located right on the river in Oshkosh, it's a very serene setting. The facility felt comfortable, and I'd felt comfortable sending a loved one there. The only room made available was a double, which we weren't interested in at the time, but they have other single rooms. The staff who gave the tour was excellent."

"It is a small facility with 15 patrons. The staff is just superb. A plus about this community is that my doctor is from Bellin and Bellin Clinic is right across the street. I would give the place a top grade all the way. Everyone is so caring. I usually make my bed after I get up, and one day, I got dressed and washed up and went down for breakfast intending to make my bed when I came back, and when I got back to my room, my bed was already made."

"Kindred Hearts of New London was fine. I liked it, but I liked the facility where my dad is currently in now better. The rooms were OK. One thing they can improve on would be the staff involvement. "

"The rooms are plenty spacious. The food has a very good selection for those looking for variety. The staff were overall, so good with my Dad. He had his 10 favorites, each one giving him special attention that he craved. The people in charge are flexible to make positive changes."

"Care Partners Assisted Living in Fox Crossing - Neenah is amazing. Everybody's so friendly. Brenda is the director there. She is amazing, too. My mom was not thrilled to go, but she's made friends and goes to every meal where they meet. She's got a beautiful room there. It's nice because she had all of her own things that she had in her apartment before all of this happened. The room is big enough so that she's got her own bathroom. It's nice. They come in every day and they clean. They have activities. They have this really nice transport vehicle, like one of those short buses, where it's got a lift in it and everything, and it can fit 8 or 10 people in a wheelchair. It's nice and very clean. All the residents there are very friendly. The staff is amazing. It's great and my mom's happy. The food is all homemade meals and they're really nice. It's not a huge place. There are about 35 residents or something. It's beautiful and real personable. The first day that I was there with her, we had lunch together and the food was really good. Their calendar is full. The price is very reasonable."

"This facility is AMAZING! My mother had a rather short stay…she passed away within a week. She was determined to be able to go home. The rooms are very nice and spacious. We were able to bring in her own dresser, reclining lift chair, end table and lamp to make it her own apartment. I “sold” it as an apartment complex with on site laundry service and restaurant with a beauty shop. My mom smiled at me and said it wouldn’t be “as bad” as she thought it would be. The staff were fantastic, patient, and went overboard redirecting her. Kudos to Katie, Ashley, and Holly. The activity director was always very helpful as well. Seems like she was always interacting with the residents. I even overheard them singing with the residents…and not just the activity department. I was there everyday to help make my mother feel “at home”. My mother walked in smiling and looked very impressed. I highly recommend this facility to anyone in need. I myself am a retired certified nursing assistant for 30 years and have seen many facilities and this is by far the best in the area!"

"Touchmark on West Prospect had a lot of great stuff. It's obviously way more expensive, but they had tons of activities for you, it's got a beautiful setting, and they had lots of different options for levels of care and spaces. They had one apartment that had a little kitchenette and a couple models of other sizes. They had a gazebo, some other little patios, and some of the apartments had balconies as well. Emily was really very knowledgeable and very nice. She seemed to anticipate a lot of questions we might have before we even knew we had them. She was just very, very helpful, and very, very nice."

"My dad has been in CopperStone Assisted Living & Memory Care. I like, best of all, that it's newer. Second of all, my dad does not speak. He had a stroke, and they do their best to communicate and see what he needs. And then they always kind of like, wink, they talk like, in little dance moves rather than talking to him, or they know enough to ask yes or no questions to help him get his needs met, like at meals and things like that. Yesterday, when we were there, they had a singer there who was playing his guitar. My dad chooses not to do that. He likes to stay in his room. But as I was leaving, I joined the group, because there were a couple of ladies there that I liked; we brought our dog there and they loved our dog. So we sat there with them for about 20 minutes. We sang all the songs with them, and so we had a blast. They make a phone call to ask a question, and they get right back to me. They're very good at that. They're very, very good with what they do so far. I'm very pleased. The building is gorgeous, 'cause it's new, it's beautiful, and they keep it looking so nice. They had a podiatrist come out, they took care of his feet, which was nice. There's a day to do their fingernails, and there's a whole line of women waiting. It's more musical, with people playing the piano, and others listening. They have a calendar of events that I take with me every month just to see if there's something that I can try to talk dad into doing."

"I like Waupaca Elder Care Home because you can see all the rooms from the center of it. They were laid out in a circular formation. We are very pleased with them right now. It is a smaller community. "
