My mom has living here. It's a new community, and we were one of the first runs to be in it. It is not full by any means yet, but so far, it is working pretty good. It's beautiful. It's great and the staff is good. They have a bus that takes them to different places, to doctor's appointments, and pleasure trips, as well within a certain radius in the community. There is a pool and a workout room. They're going to have a hair salon; that's up and coming.

I visited The Claiborne at Baton Rouge. I liked the layout, but I didn't particularly like the fact that it was behind the mall and so close to the interstate. There were some other apartments around there too, that were not for seniors. I only met a couple of staff people but they were very nice. They had everything that I wanted, like the exercise room, and I could see that the layout of the building was nice. I didn't particularly like the parking lot because it was open and there were other apartments adjacent to the building, so if you were coming in at night, that would have been a concern for me. They had a salon, they had an area for the people that live there to gather in the afternoons to watch movies and play games.

We're on the waiting list for The Claiborne at Baton Rouge. What impressed me the most was the size of the apartment and the fact that they have an outdoor balcony. I was most interested in being able to open my door and walk outside. The outside area was not the most desirable thing because it's in a more congested area and there's not very much green space. But to be able to get the apartment that we would like, we decided that we could settle for the location. Everything just looks good. It's open, light, airy, and comfortable. The staff was very friendly, it's just an appealing place. The food was good, I have no complaints. It looks like they have enough activities to keep people busy.

For my mother, The Claiborne at Baton Rouge is the one that seemed to fit the best. I like the room sizes that have separate living and bedroom spaces. I like the fact that it was clean and spacious. Nice décor and friendly staff. Overall, the facilities seemed to be at a higher level than in other places. The staff who took me around was excellent. I saw a refrigerator and a microwave in the unit. They have like a really large screened-in area, and they have some outside gardens.

I liked everything about it. The only thing for me is I live in St. Francisville and it is too far away for me to put my mother. That's the only downfall. But if I were to be living closer, that would it would be a good option. I looked at both assisted living and memory care. I only met the reception area and the young lady that gave me the tour. The person who gave me the tour was excellent and the facilities look very accommodating. They have a courtyard, a salon, a gym, a couple of gathering places, and there's a piano for the guests. It was very clean, and they say the staff goes into the rooms and clean, and the outside of the facility looks clean.

It was great. This was the best one, and the one we really liked the most. The staff member was a great tour guide. She answered all of our questions and showed us around everything. The salon that they have there is wonderful. The room itself was the perfect size for my mother-in-law. They have a lot of activities. They have a bar area for the independent living people that want to come down to drink a beer or wine. The courtyards were gorgeous to go sit and visit. It was good. The staff was very helpful. The food was good. They were showing what they were serving.

It is located behind the Mall of Louisiana. It was clean. Everybody's been very friendly, and it had all the services we were looking for for my mother. It is where we would put her if we go that route. They had the activities that we wanted and the atmosphere. They had transportation services, which was very important. They have people that come in for activities. They have programs like exercising, and I saw people playing cards.

I went to look here. It is a contemporary building, modern architecture, and mostly colored gray. Everything had a great appearance. There was not a fresh flower or fresh plant in the receiving area, nor nothing I saw in the memory care unit. It had no appeal to me. The lady who took me on the tour of the memory care unit was very nice. They were just nice, as could be. But I just did not care. It had no warmth to the place. And then the minute she opened the doors into the memory care unit, all I could smell was urine. That immediately turned me off. I have no objection to the way anything appeared. The memory care rooms are empty. I only saw inside one, which was furnished for you to look at how it could be. But I did not see a real in-patient room.

We visited, and it was a good experience. It was my first choice of places. We had a great person. She was new. She wasn't as knowledgeable as the other people, but she did a good job. It's new, so everything was new inside of it. It was very quiet. That's what I liked about it, but it wasn't the best suit for us. They're great, super modern, and well kept. They are nice. We were offered to have lunch there, but we didn't eat.

We chose it because it's fairly new. It has things that other facilities did not have, such as a heated swimming pool (which is only four feet deep). They have water aerobics a couple times a week, and a full fitness center with weights, bicycles, walkers, treadmills, and all kinds of equipment. They have three meals a day. We've eaten there, and they were good. All the residents and the staff were very, very friendly and would speak to you. I've not seen one frown on any resident's face, and I've been there now about four times. I had lunch with them and whatnot, and we were very pleased with it. They have a washer and dryer in the unit. They have studios and one-bedrooms, but we chose the two-bedroom-two-bath. It has a library, a fitness center with all kinds of equipment, a heated pool for water aerobics or swimming, and a big courtyard that has an outside walking path. The staff members were very nice and very helpful. The food was very good. You have a choice of two entrées. Like any large facility, it has long hallways, but it also has three elevators, so that makes getting around easier.

It was very nice and beautiful but big, and it would be a far walk for my dad. The rooms were beautiful, the dining room was nice, and they had a home health physical therapy office in the building.

The apartments were absolutely wonderful and modern. I met one director, who was a very nice lady, very comforting, and very inviting. It looked good and was in a nice area. They had all the same amenities as the other places we visited.
