"It was beautiful. It's independent, but I think they also assist if you need more. It was very nice. The only downside for me is, it's way across town from where I live, and I was looking at it from a perspective like how I could visit my friend. The tour person, Bryan, did a really nice job. The food was great, but I didn't get to test it. The facility was fresh, clean, attractive, and fairly new. It's modern, it's not super contemporary, but it's updated. Bryan was very attentive, followed up nicely, very personable, and was a good sales person. I didn't meet anyone else, but he was extremely impressive."

"I toured Village Crossing and I liked their restaurant, the cleanliness of the place, the size of the rooms, the convenience of the place from where I live, and the amenities. The staff was very well trained, answered all my questions, and took a personal interest in my needs. The apartments were spacious, modern, and brand new. Their dining area was beautiful with a wide selection of food. The staff asks you what you want off the menu and they go to the hot table and prepare the plate for you. I met some of the residents that were playing dice games and a sit-down volleyball game. It's a nice place. It's not assisted living, but there is an assisted living company that's based on their second floor. So, you can get any help you want, a la carte. Their meals have room service, they have a full kitchen, and it's a 759 square feet apartment. In the bathroom, there's a space for a full washer and dryer. If you don't bring one, they'll supply one free of charge, and if you don't want to do that, there's a washer and dryers down the hall."

"The Forum was a total community. They had a lot of trips for people. They had party room, and I thought it was good. It was the nicest facility prior to all that we saw. It was more wide open. The detriment was that a lot of their facilities were out of the main buildings -- a lot of condos. So in bad weather, that would be a problem in getting to the main facility. It was the only drawback to it. I ate there, and the food was really good. All the dining areas were separated by itself with four chairs and a table. They were very nicely done. It had a more community atmosphere than the others that we saw. The staff was extremely friendly and very helpful when you asked questions. "

"My father will be moving in. We chose it among others because it was nicer, had a better menu, everything was brand new, and I just felt comfortable there. Everybody has been very pleasant and awesome so far. The facility is first class and they've got unbelievable amenities. "I chose to put my dad in Magnolia Springs East. What struck me as the most important factor was the caring staff. I watched as some of the staff interacted with the residents there, and it seemed to be a very comfortable relationship between the residents and the staff, so that's primarily why we chose that one, in addition to the location. I believe they have everything that you could possibly ask for, like a workout room, a whirlpool spa, a sauna, a calendar full of activities every day, a chapel, a library, a room that looks like a '50s diner, a balcony, and inside and outside seating. "I like StoryPoint Louisville East. I had to sell my condo and I moved here and it's independent living. I have wonderful neighbors. I'm on the third floor and I enjoy living here and we have super management. They're helpful and Beth is our manager. If she can help you, she will help you. When you come here to live, you will feel safe. They have three hot meals a day. We have many places to sit if we want to walk, if we want to rest a while, and we have great maintenance people. I enjoy living here and my family want me to be here. They chose this place for me. I have a great apartment. I've got it decorated and it feels like home. Everyone who passes the door and looks into my apartment tells me how nice it is. I have a super balcony and my balcony is sunny a lot during the day and Beth, our manager, suggested I get an umbrella put up. The maintenance men installed that for me and it is super. Now I can stay on my balcony all day long if I want to. There are many different floor plans and different sizes to the apartments, but I like where I am. As a matter of fact, Beth asked me if I wanted to move, and I said, absolutely not. There's something going on all the time. I don't participate in a lot, but I walk every day. They have activities all day long, bingo, beanbag baseball, and card-making sessions. They have a bistro that we can go to and enjoy with our neighbors. They give us a full sheet of activities every morning that we can participate in if we want to. I enjoy living here and I have a great view from my balcony. I can overlook the Oxmoor shopping mall and it's just super. I like it. I have wonderful neighbors. They go on outings every week and it's great."

"I have found Creekside to be a good fit for my mother-in-law. She enjoys the food and the staff are all courteous and helpful. Everyone who works there goes out of their way to provide compassionate care. For us the most important thing in placing our loved one at Creekside was how much the people working there care about the residents. This is abundantly clear at Creekside."

"We went to BeeHive Homes of Louisville/Lyndon. They take memory care people, but they were not labeled as such, and that might be what was going on. Most facilities have a doorbell that you have to ring, and then somebody comes and unlocks the door to let you in, but with this one, you can just walk through the door. They said there was an alarm bell that would go off, and they said they knew I was coming in as I went in the door, but I didn't hear the alarm, and that kind of made me a little leery that perhaps it might be easy for my brother to get out if he decided to start wandering around. Other than that, it was a marvelous facility. The people there were very friendly. They seemed to be very caring. The whole facility was run like it was a family home. Everybody seemed to be extremely amenable to doing whatever needed to be done to take care of my brother. So that place was fantastic. The facility's maintenance was fine. I didn't see anything wrong with it at all. I like it really well, but the only thing that bothered me is the security."

"My grandmother was a resident at this facility for about two a half years. I visited her a few times during her stay, usually around the holidays, but I did visit once during the summer. The facility was always clean and well lit, with plenty of staff around. I always noticed their eyes darting down to my visitor badge, which made me feel like my grandmother was safe. Her room was medium sized, although the bathroom was large, with lots of handrails. When I stayed for dinner, the food was pretty good, definitely better than hospital food. During one of my visits I saw numerous seniors attending a seminar, which seemed to be about current events. A man was talking about the unemployment and underemployment problem, relating it to events in the past so the listeners could understand. It wasn't a depressing place that smelled, and my family could feel good about my grandmother staying there. It helps that it was her choice to move, after she became unable to do her daily life activities. "

"My mother has been in BBP for 2 years and is very happy there. She participates in a few of the activities, but is satisfied with bingo, occasionally going to Dollar Tree, Happy Hour and some of the arts and crafts. My husband and I hope to be there some day! "

"I liked the fact that Vitality Living St. Matthews seemed to care about their residents. I visited their assisted living. They have a refrigerator and microwave in the room that I saw. The staff that showed me around was very personable. I had a meal and it was pretty good. They also have exercises and different activities."

"I had a good tour at The Grand Senior Living. They have everything that you might want, it's just a little pricey for me. They have a fitness center, I like the idea of different activities that they have, and they have a movie room. They had a nice outside area, not only for walking but if you want to go out and do a cookout or something. They offer transportation, and I like that they have somebody at the door all the time. Some places don't have anyone after a certain time. The staff was very friendly. John was the person who took us around, he was very much a people person and very helpful. They were having a program the next week on moving, and he gave me the flier and invited me. He also said if I wanted to come back and have a meal, so I could experience it. So they're very willing and very cooperative. I just like the whole atmosphere of The Grand, from the time you walk in and walk out, and the people that I passed by were friendly. And that's important to me."
