"I toured several facilities before finding The Ashton. I thought because it was such a beautiful place it would be out of our price range. It was actually more affordable than most places close to my mom’s home. What sets The Ashton apart is really the staff and I mean all of the staff. They are happy, attentive, caring and engaging not only with my mom but with me and our family. Mom’s one bedroom apartment is perfect and she has everything she needs. More important than everything listed above is that my mom keeps telling us how happy she is there, and doesn’t even miss her home, which is shocking to all of us. She had lived in her home for 62 years and did not want to leave it, but the time came where she knew she needed a little less space, more community, and more available care. We are thrilled with how happy she is being at The Ashton."

"Magnolia Springs East was beautiful. They had a lot of great activities on a calendar and activity rooms, but my father is going to need skilled care and my mother needs personal care. The rooms were beautiful and fantastic, and the staff was really helpful and nice."

"I have moved into StoryPoint Louisville East. It's the only place that has three meals a day. Location is one of the main objects, as far as I am concerned. It is an area just five miles from where I was, so I am familiar with all the areas around. The rooms are very nicely sized. You're not allowed to bring stoves, but they have microwaves and refrigerators. They have activities going on practically every day. Sometimes during the meal, they have a new announcement for the day. I know the building has been around a while, but they're completely renovating it. They have apartments being renovated. I haven't been able to attend any of the activities so far because of physical problems. I've had a lot of medical appointments to make and legal appointments. So I've been busy, but I see when I pass by where they're having them that it's fairly well attended."

"I went to Creekside on Whipps Mill for a tour. Everything seemed to click. It has much better security. I felt much more at ease about it. It is also based on a family-type program where they brought everybody together, like for meals and whatever. They were very friendly and very caring. We got to talk with some of the people in memory care. They came up to us and asked us about my brother. They seemed like they would be able to take care of his needs. They were very clean, and they had so much stuff to offer."

"We loved BeeHive Homes of Lyndon. It's a wonderful place. It was smaller and I would give them an excellent review. We had a friend that was there for several years and they just raved about it. The room was lovely. Everything was nice and clean, and the staff was wonderful and very attentive. I walked in and I just immediately loved it. There were also many activities and they had the director there that does it all."

"Belmont Village St. Matthews was super nice and wonderful. The lady who gave us the tour was wonderful and super friendly. The place is very high on the list of places we're considering. Everyone was friendly. We loved the space, which was bright, open, and inviting. We liked it a lot. The rooms looked very comfortable and everything was well-done. It was a bright and cheery place, and wasn't dreary at all. It had a more modern, comfortable, and welcoming feeling. It looked like they had a lot of nice, smaller places for conversation for when you have friends or family come over. Everything wasn't just a big open space. The dining spaces were nice as well as the place where they do movies. It had a nice feel to it."

"I'm in Brownsboro Park Retirement Community. The people that work here are very friendly and very helpful. They have a nice place if you want to take a walk. The grounds are nice. They provide lunch and dinner, and sometimes they have breakfast, too. With regards to activities, they have an area downstairs where they may have somebody come in and entertain the residents, like playing a guitar and singing. They have movies down there on certain nights and stuff like that. In the rooms, the kitchen is fully equipped with a stove and a refrigerator. It's a nice place."

"Vivera Senior Living was very beautiful, nice, and clean. The staff was very nice. The dining room was set up very nicely. I don't know anything about the food. I just did a short tour and shown a room that my friend will be taking if he gets admitted there. They explained a few things about the activities, but didn't show us where they were at or anything like that. They have patios where you could sit out and smoke. It's a very nice place."

"My mother was at Pleasant Meadows for a year. It was a good place, but she only had just one room. We wanted her to have more of an apartment kind of place and just a little more independence to see how far she could go, but then we found out about the Lewy bodies. They were really good, but it's just one room and one bathroom, and there's no kitchen, no sink or anything, other than the bathroom. The food choices were pretty limited and mom wasn't too happy about that. She was in pretty bad shape because we had just taken her out of rehab. We just moved her over to the assisted living at Pleasant Meadows. There's somebody there checking them. There were girls there all night long. They're not nurses. They're just workers. They're doing laundry. They have a buzzer and they make sure mom wears a necklace, but still, at night, they had cords. The girls were there and they'd come and get her and they'll help her if they can. If they do fall, they still call the ambulance to come and check her out before they move her but there's somebody there. They'll assist her until somebody gets there to lift them. The staff was pretty good. She liked the activities and they put them on Facebook. They had story time, they did games, they spell and unscrambled words, and they had bingo and birthday parties. They did a lot. They had a sunroom that mom loved and an outside patio with a fountain. Their facility was nice."

"Signature healthcare of Spencer county is the best I have seen. The staff works well with one another and really care about the residents. The residents are happy and well engaged. My family member receives large portions of food that she loves. She has multiple activities a day to engage in. She is treated like family here and is thriving. I would recommend Signature to anyone."

"This was a very beautiful and very well kept facility. It was very clean and well organized. The residents seemed very happy to be living there and seemed to have all their needs met. After talking with my aunt who is now in her late 70's she enjoys living there and the Friendship house has helped to keep her independent able to live on her own, where she can avoid going to a nursing home before she is ready. She is able to get all of her needs met when she has them and still live on her own. The assistant living communities are a blessing to have and if they are all as good as the friendship house then the residents are very well cared for while keeping their independence. I would have to recommend assistant living communities to anyone in their aging years that want to maintain their sense of independence and also have a family type surrounding. The Friendship house gives a new meaning to the word family; they have games, dinners and other activities for the community and even have a resident manager. This is not just a community but a home full of love and understanding. "

"My mother-in-law is at Sanders Ridge Health Campus. It's a great place. We've had no problems whatsoever. The facility is clean and new. Everybody is just wonderful. They have restaurant-style dining if you want, but they are bringing it to my mother-in-law's room since she's in rehab. They have game night, movies, bingo, and crafts for them to do if they want. Every so often, they have family night, and we are allowed to come and be with them for dinner. It's just been wonderful. The staff members have been very good. They've taken very good care of her. My mother-in-law calls them quite often. She enjoys the food. She said it was good. It's a beautiful campus. They have services on Sunday for those who want to attend church, so it's very nice."

"My dad is at Green Meadows Health Care Center for long-term care. They are good with their patients. They do rehab within five days a week, and now they have to feed him because he can't get the food in his mouth. They do all of that. The food is good. He eats everything. The facility is good, and the price is nice."
