I will be moving into Linda's Place Senior Apartments. It's a senior community in Shepherdsville. It's a restricted income, meaning you can't make a lot of money in order to live there. It's for over 62. It was perfect and what I was looking for size-wise. There is a lot of storage. It is brand new. There are brand new appliances and a washer and dryer in the unit. The workers are very nice and very helpful. In the one building, they have a community room. In the other building, there is a workout center or fitness center. They also have a business room, where you can do computer stuff. They also have a pet area, so pets are allowed. They have wi-fi, internet, and basic cable for $50 a month for everybody. They pick up your trash at your door five nights a week. You don't have to take your trash out. It was like $25 a month, so I thought that was helpful. Nothing is perfect. The only thing that would make it perfect is if it had a deck or a balcony, like a little outdoor space for me. There is a community wide deck on the back of the building, so there is a place to hang out outdoors. The only thing that would have made it better would be to have my own private little deck. I like potted plants and stuff like that. I have two birds that normally get to go outside in a small travel cage. I won't be able to do that anymore, unless I personally go out with them. They're just finishing up the second building right now. The first building is occupied. The second building is supposed to be ready September 1st, and that's when I'm moving in. They're just getting the furniture in the community room now. They just got the deck furniture last week. This is a brand new complex, but it's run by Beacon Property Management. If you would look them up, they have many places in several different states. A lot of them are senior places, and they all look very nice. One of the ladies I spoke to there said it's all about us. She says all they want is for us to be happy. I thought that was really neat. I'm looking forward to being able to socialize with other women my age and possibly some of the men. It's not up and running full scale yet, but I'm sure it will be soon. Some of the landscaping was going in when I was in there last week. They're definitely coming along. The staff was very friendly, very nice, very helpful, and very informative. They'll text me, call me, and email me to keep me posted on stuff. A community wide email goes out with any updates or anything you need to know about. It's very helpful. You can put a service request in if you need something done for your apartment. It's just very helpful. Everything is independent. I'm not even living there yet, but apparently a text went out to everybody. It said, "There's free pizza in the community room if anybody's interested." I wish I had lived there. I would have went down, said hello to everybody, and had a slice of pizza. I can look forward to things like this and getting to know other ladies. I think I'll be very happy. The ladies I have met are very friendly. It's like they're looking to make friends just like I am. It was very nice. It's more rural, and that's what I wanted. I'm going to be up on the third floor, and it has an elevator. My windows actually look out onto the woods, rather than the parking lot or other buildings.
