Wheatridge Park Care Center seemed a little older, but it was kept up nicely. Each patient either could share a room or they had a private room to themselves, and you could have your own private bathroom. Actually, my mother-in-law stayed there, and every time I went there it seemed like they were always serving meals. If she didn't like the meal they offered, they had an alternative. You could get like a sandwich and chips or something like that. When I first walked in, the first thing on the right would be the physical therapy, and there was somebody in there, and it seemed like the physical therapist was very active in her work with the patients. I noticed that she was always there working patients constantly. They also had a fairly good-sized dining room. They gave patients a choice of either dining in the dining room or dining in their bedroom. The staff seemed very helpful. The place seemed clean.

If there was another option I would choose it, The staff is not friendly, the Head Nurse is unqualified for the position.. They appear to be more concerned with profit that caring of the individuals. The interior decor is aging and in my opinion they are way overpriced for the service they provide. The food is mush by most standards and the are not careful enough with the needs of the patients and the food..The turnover rate of employees is so high because no one wants to work there. No relationships are maintained due to the turnover. People come and go. Some of the staff are very nice but the management team is horrible, uncaring and dont listen to repeated requests for assistance.

Wheatridge Park Care Center is a fantastic community. My mother was a resident there for several months prior to going home with the Lord. The staff treated my mother and our family with such kindness. They provided exceptional care and always responded to us when brought anything to them. When my mother passed away, each staff member hugged our family members one by one. We felt so loved. Afterwards, we received a beautiful plant from the staff which let us know they were still thinking about us during our time of loss. We will never be back in Liberal, but we will never forget Wheatridge and everything they did for our family.
