"We are seriously looking at Brookdale Grayson View. It seems to be our first choice. It's very, very pleasant. The tour was handled very professionally. Stephanie, who was the director, helped us with every question that we had and gave us different options to consider. We could see our sister living there without a doubt. They gave us three different units with three different price ranges, and considering the financial aspect, we have to see if one of those would fit in with my sister's needs. We looked at the dining area; we didn't sample any food. The dining area was adequate, sufficient, and very pleasant. It smelled good and was very appetizing. The community looked maintained and perfectly clean. The residents that we came in contact with seemed happy, and everything seemed very pleasant. "

"Kindred Place at Harrisburg was very nice. The people were wonderful. The rooms were just too small for my furniture. I'm a United Church of Christ, so that was the reason I wanted to go there."

"My visit at Silver Springs Courtyards was very nice and the staff was very knowledgeable. They had these little cottages that were 1-bedroom apartments. The parking was OK, but you had to walk pretty far to get to your cottage. They had a washer and laundry area, and they also had a community room. It was a very nice community. The apartments were very tiny and didn't have a dishwasher. You're lucky if you can fit a very small table in the kitchen. The living room and bedroom were also very small, including the closet space. The staff member that gave me the tour did a good job."

"I liked The Woods at Cedar Run a lot. The thing I like the most would be the size of the facility and it's very private. It's secluded in a wooded area and it's not large. I liked the size of the place. They don't have a lot of extras that people our age don't need. The food was very good. They gave me some lasagna. It was wonderful. I just didn't like it that if you get very old and very ill, your family's got to step in and move you someplace else. The dining room was nice and people were eating. They were very friendly. The lady that toured with me was very good, very friendly, and knowledgeable."

"Bethany Village is a very nice place. They had beautiful apartments that were very spacious. They had nice amenities with selections of flooring and layouts. They have the ability to individualize them nicely for the resident's comfort. They had one bedroom and two bedrooms. The bathrooms and laundry rooms were nicely laid out as far as proximity to one another. The staff was very pleasant and informative. She was able to provide answers to any questions that arose."

"The Keller House is under new ownership and improvements are being made daily (even though I didn't think it was bad before). Rooms being painted and new carpeting going in. Meals are good (according to the resident I am the POA for) and the new owners are constantly working on improving the facility. New breakfast, lunch and dinner times, allowing me more time for doctor's appointments in the morning. Residents continue to enjoy board games, some physical activities if they are interested, etc. I love the HOME feel of the building, unlike the large, much more expensive senior living facilities in the area. It's not a large facility and the residents seem to like that. I know I did when I visited in 2016 when looking for a less expensive facility for the elderly lady I look after. Even back then, before all the improvements, it still had a nice, friendly feel to it and the owner was easy to talk to and work with. Not for everyone, I know, but if you're looking for a place in a small town, close to everything and not super expensive, at least call, set up an appointment and give them some consideration. Wish I had moved my friend there sooner. She's happier than she was in a larger, more expensive facility. "

"It was very nice. The people who lived there seemed very pleased. They had separate houses, which were spacious. They had a very nice social creation area. They had an outdoor pool and different rooms where different activities took place. They had an activity director and they had different games. "

"We visited a friend at Messiah Lifeways Mechanicsburg, PA. They have a lovely restaurant right on the campus. The restaurant is very nice. Delicious food. My friend has a two-bedroom apartment. She has a nice two-car garage, too. She uses her car on one side and the other is her storage. It's nice. It's all good. The staff seems very nice. The place is very nice and very attractive. With regards to activities, my friend is really happy with the activities. She has joined a couple of different things that she was interested in and it looks like she has a lot of choices. She is very pleased with it. She thought that it was very reasonable in terms of what she could afford and what she could expect from them. I think she is very happy with it so far."

"We chose EverTrue Cumberland Crossings because my son lives five minutes away, and I'll be much closer to him if I need him. We looked at an empty unit, and it was a unit compared to what I'll get. It was very clean and spacious. They're very large, and I'm getting a two-bedroom cottage. It looked very nice, and I'm very anxious to get there. They have fitness programs, a heated indoor exercise pool, and different committees and clubs you can join. They also have a walkway around the whole campus. I have a scooter and I'll be able to use it all over the campus. They have a chef, and I get 20 meals a month included in my rent. They go on trips and outings, and there's a little mall they go to, and there's a Walmart. They make little two-day trips around the area, which sounds good. The concierge gave my son a tour. I haven't been on a tour, but have been in the unit. I think he was very pleased with the tour that he got."

"We visited The Middletown Home. I like the building itself, the people that were in there, and the cleanliness of the place. Everything was clean. Comparing it to other places, they have a significant amount of staff and you see them everywhere, which I like. Their staff has been there for years, which I think is a good thing too. I thought that the cafeteria and food types that they have was a good set-up. They have two different cafeterias. They have a wide variety of menu options. Overall, The Middletown Home was my favorite place."
