"It would have been wonderful if my cousin was still active. The staff was very involved with the residents and very nice to speak to. The rooms looked like they were a good size and would be accommodating for one person."

"We went to Sunrise at Fountain Square. They only showed us the independent rooms, those that were vacant, and they looked fine. The building looked fine. It was very nice, very clean, and very well taken care of. The staff members were very kind. I also met the coordinator for the nursing staff of memory care, who was very knowledgeable."

"Even though American House Oak Park is fairly expensive, it's really a good value for the money. It is beautiful, partly because it's new and it's very well thought out. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. We met five or six staff members, and they were all very pleasant and very professional. They did not offer us food, but they had coffee and nice cold water for us. It's also very clean."

"Friendly, helpful staff, clean building, with some areas' newly remodel. They should continue to remodel as money is available. Chapel; is beautiful, love the birds in meeting areas. It would be preferred if small pets allowed or have a social service dog. "

"My wife is over at the Belmont Village Lincoln Park right now and everything is fine. It's very clean and pretty well-staffed, and the food was good. They had different things going on for different groups, especially for the memory care group, so I was happy with that. The cost is a little expensive. Our interaction with their staff is good. Most of the rooms were studios but they have other styles. They have an exercise room, they have a courtyard, and they have an outdoor area."

"I have lived at the Clare for nearly 16 years. It is very much "home", but in addition to that, it is FAMILY—residents and staff caring deeply for one another.. Life here enhances the good experiences of my earlier life. The excellent staff perform unbelievable services; the food is extraordinary. I cannot imagine living anywhere else. I couldn't be happier."

"We were able to visit The Hallmark of Chicago and the facility was very nice, well kept, and the staff were very friendly. The dining room was beautiful. We had lunch there and the food was good. With the activities, they have outings and they provide transportation. They also have a workout area like a fitness facility. "

"What I like the best about Generations at Oakton Arms is the cleanliness of the property and the amenities that they offer. The rooms were excellent. The staff member who toured me around was extremely professional and considerate of me moving in as a new tenant. I was very impressed."

"My mother has severe Alzheimers and has been residing at the Self Help home for the past 4 years.She entered with only mild dementia and living independently until she became more and more impaired. Her 85th birthday is in a few weeks , and although she doesnt appear to know who we are anymore. at least shes around to celebrate it. Self Help home has made us,her family, feel safe .My mom has had excellent care there all these years , and the administration and staff there have been very warm and nurturing throughout these very difficult years. Mom cant do anything for herself anymore , but is well-taken care of, and we know this excellent standard of care will continue as long as she is there. "

"It appears to be very good. It's fine working with the staff, and initially when my mother moved in everyone was very helpful with her transition. They have a variety of different rooms. They have studios, my mother has a one-bedroom apartment with a kitchen, a living area, her bedroom, and good closet space. She also has a storage locker down the hall. They went on an outside outing yesterday, and also have bingo, movies, games, church services and a swimming pool. It's pretty well-rounded. The staff members I encountered were very nice. The food isn't home-cooking but there's variety. There is good security in this community, and I think that's important."

"Brookdale Glen Ellyn was very nice and it's a newer facility. The only reason it wouldn't work was the location. The apartments were beautiful. The staff member was extremely friendly, she was a very energetic person, and the residents seemed to love her. She probably does a good job there because the people like her a lot. She's very professional and very informative."

"My visiting experience at Belmont Village was very positive. The staff was very pleasant. They were knowledgeable and helpful. The apartments were quite adequate in size. It was not as large as some of the others that we saw, which was attractive for us, but it was very pleasantly decorated and furnished. "

"The Merion was lovely and very nice. It was the one I liked the best. It was an old hotel that they changed to a senior place. The dining area was very nice, and the food looked very good. They're constructing a new building right next to it that will have a pool. They had a gym with exercise equipment and a lot of music activities. They had one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. "
