"It would have been wonderful if my cousin was still active. The staff was very involved with the residents and very nice to speak to. The rooms looked like they were a good size and would be accommodating for one person."

"We went to Sunrise at Fountain Square. They only showed us the independent rooms, those that were vacant, and they looked fine. The building looked fine. It was very nice, very clean, and very well taken care of. The staff members were very kind. I also met the coordinator for the nursing staff of memory care, who was very knowledgeable."

"Even though American House Oak Park is fairly expensive, it's really a good value for the money. It is beautiful, partly because it's new and it's very well thought out. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. We met five or six staff members, and they were all very pleasant and very professional. They did not offer us food, but they had coffee and nice cold water for us. It's also very clean."

"Friendly, helpful staff, clean building, with some areas' newly remodel. They should continue to remodel as money is available. Chapel; is beautiful, love the birds in meeting areas. It would be preferred if small pets allowed or have a social service dog. "

"My wife is over at the Belmont Village Lincoln Park right now and everything is fine. It's very clean and pretty well-staffed, and the food was good. They had different things going on for different groups, especially for the memory care group, so I was happy with that. The cost is a little expensive. Our interaction with their staff is good. Most of the rooms were studios but they have other styles. They have an exercise room, they have a courtyard, and they have an outdoor area."

"I have lived at the Clare for nearly 16 years. It is very much "home", but in addition to that, it is FAMILY—residents and staff caring deeply for one another.. Life here enhances the good experiences of my earlier life. The excellent staff perform unbelievable services; the food is extraordinary. I cannot imagine living anywhere else. "My mother has severe Alzheimers and has been residing at the Self Help home for the past 4 years.She entered with only mild dementia and living independently until she became more and more impaired. Her 85th birthday is in a few weeks , and although she doesnt appear to know who we are anymore. at least shes around to celebrate it. Self Help home has made us,her family, feel safe .My mom has had excellent care there all these years , and the administration and staff there have been very warm and nurturing throughout these very difficult years. Mom cant do anything for herself anymore , but is well-taken care of, and we know this excellent standard of care will continue as long as she is there. "

"Brookdale Glen Ellyn was the first senior facility that I had actually toured and it was a positive experience. The woman that I had the experience with initially was very polite. She was very willing to answer questions. I also met the gentleman that drives their bus, and he was very nice and friendly. I'm feeling good about my choice. I really am. They were all very welcoming and very helpful. The place was very clean and very well kept. It was just a very pleasant surrounding. They have an exercise room and a library for the residents to go to. I got a feeling of good care, and that if I wanted to be busy, there are programs/activities during the day that I could join, and they would keep me as busy as I wanted to be."

"My visiting experience at Belmont Village was very positive. The staff was very pleasant. They were knowledgeable and helpful. The apartments were quite adequate in size. It was not as large as some of the others that we saw, which was attractive for us, but it was very pleasantly decorated and furnished. "

"I liked the tour at The Merion. They were very professional. My concern is maybe it's more expensive than I could afford, but the facility seems fine. It seemed like they had everything, which is good. They have a gym and a library of some sort. The rooms I saw were on the small side, but for me it was fine. They charge a lot, and I think they're expensive. I didn't shop around other facilities so I can't compare. You get a stipend, and you could use it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I've tried the food, and it was pretty good. The staff that I met all seemed professional and decent."
