"Mason Woods is a new facility with cheery staff who haven't had time for any burnout yet. Each resident has their own apartment-like unit, yet there are common areas with a wide range of social functions and activities. It almost seemed like being back in a college dorm again. There is a waiting list, but I'd definitely encourage investigating an assisted living facility like this before more traditional nursing homes. "

"I had family members who stayed at Fireside House of Centralia. They have a good rehab there. The grounds are fair. The patients can go outside and walk around and they don't have to worry about cars or anything. The rooms are clean. They have a pretty good staff. If you have a patient in the nursing home, you can go in and have parties and they help with the food and stuff. They encourage people to go in and do that. Their service is good. If the patients can't walk, they help them to and from the bathroom and they also get them dressed. If they're having trouble eating, they feed them. They just take care of them better. They have games, they bring people in to play music, and they have entertainment. They just get to do more things. The food is good. People seem to like it."

"I have 17 years' experience with relatives who were residents at Breese Nursing Home. While the appearance is not the best, the care is amazing. The staff truly cares about the residents and makes sure to take care of their needs. There are many long-term employees who are obviously not there because of the pay or the benefits but because they truly love their job and in turn the residents. I have experience with other facilities that have all the bells and whistles and up-to-date decorations, etc. but I found the care to be lacking. I would recommend Breese Nursing Home to anyone who is more concerned about the care their loved one receives rather than the décor. "

"The rooms are average for a nursing/rehab facility. The layout is sensible with patients with like conditions/status grouped together. The staff is amazing! Most have been here long term which provides a very stable environment. They are kind, caring and attentive. Since mom has been here (broke her hip and she has dementia) they have had care plan meetings with our family and the care team. My dad religiously sits with her at each meal. The food is institutional, similar to the hot meals provided in school. Not great, somewhat appetizing and they have quite a variety. We have also stopped in at times when no one has been expecting us and mom has been under good care. She isn’t “parked” in a bed all day. They have given her showers, washed her hair and everyday they dress her in clean clothes. While we wish we were able to meet her needs at home, we are grateful to the staff at Centralia Manor for taking care of her in such a kind, supportive and safe environment. For an institution, I don’t think you could ask for much more."

"Cedarhurst of Breese was all very good. It's very nice and new. It's only two or three years old. The staff was excellent. They had the rosary going on and they had sittercise in the beginning. The rooms were excellent. The one-bedroom had plenty of footage for the price. It was very comparable."

"My mom moved into Aviston Countryside Manor. The facility is very clean. They have very friendly staff and very good food. I go into the dining room with my mom frequently, and she compliments the food. The dining room is very nice. There are tables where probably about eight people can sit together. The aides serve them their food. They have regular cloth napkins and plates. It's a very nice facility. Their staff had been very helpful to my mother. They are good about coming in, checking on her, and helping her whenever she rings for them. They are nurses and CNAs. They have a very nice activity director. She sometimes helps out in the dining room if they're really busy, and she's very friendly."
