My father was at Hammond Henry Nursing for rehabilitation. It's very new. The staff was compassionate and unbelievably excellent. My father was kind of unusual. He praised everybody for everything they did and thanked them profusely. If somebody gave him a bath, he said he'd tell them what was so wonderful about that bath. He appreciated so much everything everybody did for him, and he wanted them to know it. It's a smaller facility, and they probably gave better one-on-one care. My dad did not like the food there, though. But he was a connoisseur of food. He wanted salt and he wanted flavor. The nursing staff were incredibly helpful and compassionate. They guided us immensely. We didn't know what to expect, but they really gave us great guidance. They did a very nice job. Dad came back there on a hospice program. He was practically on his death bed saying thank you to the staff. He saw a human being in them and not a worker. And in turn they just bent over backwards for him. He died there last September.
