They also make it easy for families to connect with each other, which adds another layer of support. That has meant a lot to me. I’m very glad I chose this community for my brother."

"We visited Arden Courts of Palos Heights. They engage the patients in something that they can remember from the past, like old songs. The staff was very professional and very caring. They had separate areas where they can sit and listen to the radio, and if the weather is nice, they can go and sit in the patio. They had a garden that they can go and work in. I didn't eat there, but the dining area looked nice. "

"My dad was here. The staff was very caring and very concerned. My dad was in his own room. It was on a smaller end, but it fit his needs. He had a bathroom attached with a shower. He also liked the food. The dining area was very nice. It was in a huge room with a floor to ceiling windows looking out on a lake, so it was very pretty. It was very nice and comfortable just like it would be in your own home. They did have a happy hour that my dad was interested at. They had religious activities, and he enjoyed those too. "

"We have moved my mother into Evergreen Senior Living. It is a very small, personalized care. The rooms are beautiful. The food is wonderful. All the employees are very nice. I highly recommend them. My mother has a 1-bedroom that has a nice-sized living area and a small kitchenette area with a small refrigerator, cabinets, and nice lighting. The view is beautiful outside. There is a small pond outside her window. There is a walk-in shower. There is no lift. It also has a fold-out seat. It is very nice. Her room is 500-square feet. They also have 2-bedrooms, single studios, and 1-bedrooms. The place is also very close to my home. They have exercising everyday, movies a few times a week, bingo three times a week, and cards the other days. A couple of weeks ago, they had cruise week. The staff members are always there to make sure that people are getting up, moving around, and going outside. They have a beautiful outside area with grills and play yards for people to bring their kids. It is very nice. The price is in line with everywhere else. I looked at several places, but this one is great."

"We toured Brookdale Lisle's independent living for our father-in-law. Our salesperson, who's also the person who gave us the tour, was very nice. She answered all of our questions, showed us everything, and a couple of rooms. She showed us a studio and a one-bedroom, the ones we were interested in. She also showed us their nursing station and all their amenities. She was very pleasant and we enjoyed having the tour with her. They had a pool for exercising, a library, and a fitness room. They have a little garden outside and a garden group if you want to go gardening. It seemed like they had activities throughout the day, too. Their dining room was very clean and very nice. They had a little outside patio in the summertime. They put tables and umbrellas out there if you wanted to eat outside, and that was nice. The room we saw seemed very clean. The people we saw seemed happy to be there. There was a room where people got together and played board games. We saw a few people doing that and people exercising in the exercise room. It was a pretty big facility, and it was very clean. My father-in-law was pleasantly surprised. He said it was a lot nicer than he thought it would be, and I agree with him. We might be going back because they have happy hours every Friday, so my father-in-law kind of wanted to go to one to meet more people to kind of help make up his mind."

"Sunrise of Naperville was nicer than I thought it was going to be. They had a lot of activities and I liked it. I really liked how they had arts & crafts. It was small so the women could all talk together. They had nice bedrooms that looked like home. I really liked it. I would have definitely moved my mom there if she could stay for a year. However, they do not take Medicare. "

"It was a little bit smaller. It didn't have (I don't think) as much room for my mom, if she was to go there and get away from anybody. It was not as spacious, but it was very clean. Their workout room was part of the physical therapy part of it. I'm not sure if there's a separation or not. I know that they said that you can use it, but I think it was combined. We were able to check the menu. It was very good."

"I went here. I was waiting 45 minutes past my appointment time to be seen. When I saw the person, he was in a hurry. So, he quickly gave me a folder and showed me a room, and that was it. He showed me a studio. It was open. It was nice, but that's all they showed me. It's modern. It was beautiful, including the grounds and the facility, and there were a lot of parking spots and handicapped spots. The staffing, wonderful nurses, and CNAs were friendly and attentive to the residents."

"The Bickford of Tinley Park was very nice. It was pretty much single rooms, which were nice. It's new, clean, and the rooms were laid out well. The staff was very knowledgeable. They have a personal chef running the kitchen, and it looks like they have plenty of activities there, but then the cost was higher."

"My uncle is in Tinley Court. It is small, and everything is pretty much on one floor. They have a second floor, which is also small. The apartment that they called a studio is really more like just a room with a bathroom. My uncle has been there not even two weeks, and he likes it. He has three meals a day and he thinks the food is good. He likes the people and the staff. The staff is very friendly. They get along well with the residents. I notice that they have exercise every morning, and they do other things, like bingo and a couple of movie nights a week. "

"I liked Independence Village of Naperville. The staff, Heidi, and the residents were wonderful. We ate there, and it was great. We're considering it because of the amenities with the transportation, the three meals a day, and the housekeeping. I really enjoyed meeting the residents there. I was impressed with their grounds and their inside. I've gone over certain concerns that my children have with Heidi and her answers were fine; she explained the emergency button and everything."
