I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

The Residence at Dania Beach (Willow Manor Retirement Home) is an excellent place. They have furnished rooms, both private and semi-private, with bathrooms, TVs, and dressers. They have exercise time, activity time, break time, music days, and ice cream socials. The cook will bring out their food to get their bigger meal for lunch and the smaller meal at dinner, which is nice. He'll come around and bring their salads and soups, so the residents get them hot. The way the place is set up, everything is so convenient for the elderly people.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I was at Willow Manor for about a year, and it was not a good experience. I was very unhappy. I did not get the care that I needed. They did not come in the night when I needed to go to the bathroom. It was my main complaint. They were very understaffed. I had an aide with me most of the day when I was there. Without the aide, I would not have survived it. They should not be allowed to take people in that they can't take care of. I rarely ate there, but I have no problem with the food. I was not involved in any activities, but they had games and stuff.

I visited this facility

I visit this facility hoping to place my Mother, After observing the residents setting all along without any help around them, Not to mention the Man with feces on the back of his pants, If it wasn't for seeing a very friendly housekeeper taking time and talking with the Residents I would had been convinced that these poor people was there alone!

I visited this facility

We visited Willow Manor, but we didn’t like it. The rooms were small. The staff was fine, and they seemed to have plenty of staff. The dining room was fine.

Willow Manor is where we placed my father. We chose it because it seems to be a good place to put him in. However, the facility needs improvement because it is old. The cleanliness also needs improvement. The staff treats us fine. The activities seem great. When we were there, it is time for Thanksgiving and Christmas, so people are coming in to sing, and the clients are dancing so it seems like people will be having fun. They have games that they play like bingo and things like that. They have big recreational rooms. It seems like everything will be fine. Personally for me, I don't care for their food because it doesn't have a lot of flavors, but then I do understand that they are feeding people there that have different types of illnesses, so that's probably why they don't put a lot of things on it. I am not really satisfied.

I visited this facility

The staff at Willow Manor seemed to take care of their people OK. I saw their workers, and they seemed pleasant. I would be willing put my in-laws in this facility. I like their apartments. They have games for the people, and they have crafting time. They have several large TVs where people can gather as a group. They go on little trips, and they have exercise. They also have an outside patio where you can go outside and enjoy that. The facility's location isn’t too far from the shopping center, and I am pretty sure that the bus would probably take them if they wanted to go there. Overall, the facility is nice and less expensive.

I visited this facility

We went to Willow Manor and they really didn't have a whole lot of activities that we could see. The director is excellent. She is very, very nice, but the place was old and it smelled. The carpets were old. It just didn't look like they kept the place that well and those were the things that prevented us from choosing this facility.
