My mom moved to Assured Senior Living 10. It's a small residential memory care. She's in a house with 8 to 10 people, so it's a little better for her. She has a bedroom and a bathroom. It's not as big as a suite, but it's totally fine and extremely clean. They're always doing stuff. There are several things they do throughout the day, and if they find one of the residents who's really interested in something that they see, they'll just go engage in what they're engaged with. They pay attention to things like that and address those needs. They have people who come in who do music. My mom likes to do the exercises that are on the TV, the program where people are sitting and following along and doing those exercises. That's really cute, too. They do other activities like play games and do other little projects. They toss around beach balls with some of them in their wheelchairs. They do a whole variety throughout the day. The food is really good and fresh. They have an in-house kitchen, so they cook everything and make really nice snacks like fresh fruit and homemade cookies. We chose this place for my mom because it's small and they were willing to deal with my mom's behaviors that are associated with Alzheimer's and dementia with Lewy bodies. The Lewy body is kind of hard, but they've been able to deal with that really well just with lots of attention, nurturing, and building trust. They also have the same caregivers every day, and they're very communicative with me. She has not been sent to the hospital at all since being there.
