My father has moved into Creston Village. He is transitioning into memory care. They didn't have a room for him, but he is in assisted living temporarily until he can move. It seems more open and more airy whereas in the other place, it felt like you're on a ship. Creston Village has more outdoor seating areas, a garden, and a patio. You can have your meal out there if you want. There's more outdoor stuff for my dad to do. My dad is not a game player and he doesn't like bingo and all that other fun stuff, so this is more his setting. His room looks great, it's beautiful, open, and airy, too. So far, so good. The staff members keep me abreast. They know that my father is new there, so he's having a few transitional stuff, and they let me know that he's doing good and he's safe, and I talk to him pretty much every day. Dining is easier. They have a different special every day, and then they have their set menu, so you can have whatever you want, that way you're not just getting the same meals all the time. It seems more balanced. They tell you what you're having and what type of nutrients are in it.

Creston Village had the most beautiful grounds, barbecue area, and the outside was really big, probably like an acre of grass. And just nice landscaping. Very good. Very well done. It's an older place, so it's been remodeled a little bit. It's comfortable inside, but it screams 1980 to me. The rooms were the best laid out rooms of any place I visited. And the reason is, the bathrooms were accessible. If you had a one bedroom, you could get to the bathroom from the living room kitchen area and the bedroom, two different entrances. So it was like a big circle. So you didn't have to - - if you were at the kitchen sink, you wouldn't have to go through the living room, and down through the bedroom to get to the bathroom. So this way you can cut right through the closets. Easy to get to. Very much wheelchair oriented. Plenty of room to move around in there. That's where I was just about to put my brother in, but then they made a mistake. I didn't try the food, but they were limited on their menu. It's off the road, so it's private, it's quiet. It's got a lot of things going for it, except it's a corporately owned place.

Creston Village never returns my phone calls. I'll call the front desk and ask about the bill and nobody would call me back. I have gone in to give paperwork to them and when my mom will get upset with me, they'll have asked me to leave. They just don't understand. They think they know my mom better than I. They don't listen to me. I would give some of the staff a 5 rating and some of the staff a 3. There are a few staff members that I liked and I know they just have no control over what the management does. The place is so big that you think they could feed half of them at one time, but they just couldn't seem to get it right. My mom's room is a mess. They can't keep it clean. One of the problems is my mom is a hoarder. They need to get in there and just clean it up and talk to her about it. They were having good activities when she first moved in there and then during COVID, they stopped. They're starting to have activities again, but for a while, they didn't have the beauty parlor and nothing was open. They're raising prices again, including the internet and phone, but half of the time, the internet doesn't even work there.

We visited Creston Village, everything was clean and modern, it doesn't have a smell, and it's nicely furnished. The staff was friendly and very accepting. They showed me everything, the rooms, the dining room, the activity room, and the grounds. I like the layout, they had beautiful grounds, and there was more nature in this facility.

My mom has been in Creston Village for almost five years now. It's friendly and clean. They are in the middle of remodeling everything and putting everything new. The staff and residents are both very friendly. She has a one-bedroom and it's very nice and it's up to date. She has her little refrigerator and microwave, and she controls her own heat, so she doesn't have to worry about it. She has her air conditioner and her heater and all that in the room. They had just remodeled her room, too, right before she moved back in. My mom gets all her meals. She gets her medications. They have a med-tech room for all the medications. It's worth the value. I've had meals with her, and it's kind of hit and miss. Sometimes it's really good and it depends on who the chef is. It kind of goes up and down. The dining area is bright and airy. It's huge, it has two-story ceilings and big windows, and it's clean. They have art activities, balance class, exercise class, a walking group, bus tours, and shopping tours. They have a salon there. They have a physical therapy room. They have physical therapists that are on-site, and they have all the exercise machines there. If they need to be taken to the doctor's or something like that, they have a driver that will take them to where they need to go if family members can't drive them or if they can't drive themselves. They've always been good about cleaning the rooms and doing the laundry. My mom has never had a dirty room or not had it upkept and things like that, so they're on top of that. They have a garden area outside. They have like a little gardening club, but if anybody wants to have like a little garden box, they can do that outside, too.

We went here and we liked it. The staff was great and really nice, they have a library, a movie theater, and an area where they watch TV. We saw a regular outdoor area where you can go outside.

The community I looked at was in Paso Robles. The experience was good. I was impressed with them. The facility was very nice. It’s close to a relative; that’s why I’m impressed. I thought the staff was good. It’s country-living. I would give it a 5; I thought it was very nice. It is very close to a golf course. It is just the atmosphere.

The staff and the surroundings were very good. I was impressed. However, it is 45 or 30 miles away from where my parents live. They were very accommodating and showed me the dining area or facility. It was a good, extensive tour. The staff brought me to the memory care portion of the facility also, which I thought was nice. She showed me that the facility handled care for both assisted living and memory care, and she showed me both sides of the facility. They were good, but the rooms were a bit small.

The facility was for my husband cousin. My first impression was that it was very clean and lively. They keep the residence active with many different activities. One thing I like was that they would take the residence out once a week either lunch or ride in the country. The menu was one thing my husband cousin really likes.

Creston Village is an Assisted Living community in the heart of wine country in Paso Robles, CA. They offer assisted living services and have an Alzheimer's Care area as well. One of the nicest things about Creston Village is that they have 10 acres, so there are plenty of places to be outdoors for a meal or just to take a little stroll around the property. They have all the assisted living services a person could need, which are provided at an additional charge to the monthly fee. One of the nice features of this building is the big movie room. It feels kind of like a little movie theater. The head nurse is very dedicated and kind and the place has a friendly, clean feeling. It is definitely geared more towards people needing assisted living versus independent living. The apartments are clean and nice, though on the smaller side, which is typical for assisted living. The dining room staff will accomodate special requests with a smile. I like that the residents go on outings to the beach or to downtown Paso Robles, and they seem to really enjoy the staff and their location. Definitely a very nice, and a little more affordable, assisted living option in the area.
