"It was good, and it's really nice, but it's actually more the people. The people that I met, from the people at the front desk who answered the phone and greeted you, to the person who did the tour, the person who did medical management, the activities coordinator, the manager of the facility, the person who did the cooking, and the person who did the billing, everybody was accommodating and tried to have my parents there. All of that experience was really good. The assisted living side is nicer and roomier, the memory care side is a lockdown, and there isn't any exercise facility. "

"My parents are at The Windham. They were in independent living for about five years and they've been in assisted living for one year. They really like being in independent living because they had a lot of freedom. My dad really enjoys still a lot of the activities like ping pong, Wii bowling, and chair volleyball, those kinds of things. Since they've been in assisted living, it's been a hard transition for them and my dad has not been very happy with the care services for my mom. They always seem to be in a hurry and kind of run in, give her her shower, run out. It's very quick. They don't spend a lot of time doing the care. The food is fine. My parents are not terribly impressed by the food. They have a lot of deep-fried foods which they don't like, and I don't like them to eat it either. They prefer to eat in their room instead of going to the dining room. They pick everything up in a Styrofoam box, which I don't mind. They have a lot of activities. They have a pool, they have gardening boxes if the residents are interested in that, there's a happy hour on Thursdays, and a computer/library room."

"I was extremely impressed with them. I thought it was a beautiful facility, and for people who needed just assisted living, that place would have been absolutely great. I mean, it looked like they were living in little studio, and the people seemed relatively in good spirit. They had a whole table of women who were doing different things -- coloring, painting and stuff like that. They also had a little dog, which really got them 200+ points in my opinion. I saw one interaction where they were dealing with one who I believe was suffering from sort of dementia, and I thought they handled it very well. It was not based on experience; it was just based on my observation that I thought the place was fabulous. It had a well-lit backyard garden. The rooms were very nice. I found them to be very spacious, and I liked the way that they really set them up for people with ADL issues. They had a large dining room there, and it looked very nice. The woman that took us on the tour -- the marketing administrative person -- was great. I thought it was a great place. If I needed care, I would go there. "

"The tour I had was great. The apartments were big and spacious. Everything seemed fine to me. Jeremy toured us around, and he was also great. As we were walking, I observed the residents interacting in a large group. They had some karaoke going on and a game that they were playing.The dining area also looked fine."

"I toured Magnolia Crossing. It's a very homey feeling. It's a great location. The staff was very friendly. We even spoke to a couple of residents, and everybody was very nice. They were very detailed in their tour. They gave us all the information and answered all of our questions. They have a full kitchen and they have someone that cooks. They have a living room for people to go and relax and visit. They have an arts and crafts area where they have a big open table where people do crafts and puzzles, and play bingo, that kind of thing. They have a reading room. They have a lot of outside space."

"Nazareth House is one of the places we're considering. The main thing I like about them is that it seems like their level of care would be better than in some of the other places. They have more care facilities. It was not as fancy as some of the other ones, but it seemed like if you were worried about your loved ones being taken care of, that would be a place that I would want them to go. The other thing about the Nazareth House is that they have assisted living, but they also have whatever you would call beyond assisted living. They have facilities there for people who are bedridden and can't get out of bed on their own. I thought that was a good thing, especially in the case of my mother."

I knew she would get the highest quality care and I have not been disappointed.
