Nazareth House of Fresno met my parents' needs. My dad was a head doctor at a Catholic hospital his whole career, and this is Catholic-run by the nuns. They go all the way up to hospice care. The meals are good and they're scheduled, which is important because some people thrive on structure. The portions are appropriate for an older person, which I'm glad for because my mom is trying to gain weight. They come in every day to make the beds and they press their shirts. They have really long-term employees and they have a chapel. They also have a priest, so they have mass every morning. The place is immaculate, clean, and well-kept. The grounds are gorgeous, with seven acres of gardens and trails. My dad goes to trivia nights, and my mom likes to watch. The value is appropriate and you're paying for what you get. It's a good value.

First of all, I have had relatives living in this community since the late 1970's. I've been a part of their volunteer staff, back when they had volunteers. When the facility was run by the Sisters, it was immaculate & they genuinely cared about their residents. Within the last 10 yrs the care portion was purchased by a corporation & things went down hill from there. The focus now is the all mighty $$$. Over the last 3 yrs & as recent as this past weekend, I've been dealing with mice/rat infestation in my mothers room. Feces have been found in her closet, in & on her clothing. In her desk drawers, in her walker basket, her bathroom & under her chair! I personally found a nest in her closet on top of a dresser inside bed linens! We've also had to deal with bed bugs & a bug infestation in her personal recliner chair. I can't believe that the staff never noticed anything (mice droppings)! It took me all of 2 secs to see it when I went into the closet to get a sweater for my mom! We are fully aware that this is not just happening in my mom's room, but also in other areas of the facility. The administrator never takes responsibility & is quick to try to turn things back on the resident. My mother is 96 yrs old!! Be very cautious when looking for a care facility for your loved ones ~ don't just look at the 5* ratings ~ if there aren't any other reviews, dig a little deeper! Call the Ombudsman to see if there are any complaints & call the Community Care Licensing board as well.

The Nazareth House is Catholic-run. The dining area was huge; I loved the kitchen and the food. They took very special care of us. They have mass every day, so it fits my daily lifestyle.

Nazareth House was a nice facility. It was run by Catholic nuns, so for someone with a Catholic parent, I thought that's a good situation. They had a chapel on site and different levels of care. The rooms were nice and clean. They had what was appropriate for a senior. It had a regular or a hospital bed. They had their own bathroom. So, it was like a little apartments in a way. It was in a big facility, but there were private rooms. The staff seemed very nice and attentive to the residents. They had a full kitchen and a cafeteria type setting. You could eat in there or in your room.

Nazareth House has a convent right there with four nuns that actually worked in the community. They were willing to combine two rooms for my mom and dad, and I really wish them the best. They served mass every morning. I did talk to the dietician there, and the dining room has white tablecloths, assigned seating, a good variety of food, and different entrees; they didn’t have just one thing for dinner, which I really appreciated. The grounds were absolutely unbelievable. It’s located on 10 acres. They have one-on-one with caregivers, and they are doing a great job.

My mom was a resident of the Nazareth House for a few years. She had Alzheimers that progressed steadily while she was there. I felt very releaved knowing how well she was being taken care of. The staff treats everyone special. The food is good, there are alot of activities, beautiful grounds and safety is #1. My mom was very happy while she was there.
