"I visited Evergreen Court looking to find a place for my adoptive mother who is currently starting to get on in age. The place honestly felt rather sparse and understaffed. I was bothered by the fact that it seemed many of the people working there seemed to be rather young, early twenties and some seemed younger. I saw a few of the "nurses" who seemed to be working very hard and I saw some others that were just sitting at tables on their cell phones. It was at least clean however. We passed through at meal time and while the food didn't seem to be anything remarkable, it did look passable. In short? If I placed my mother in Evergreen Court I would want to make sure I could check in regularly, if I lived in an area with more options, I would not take advantage of their services at all. I still may not go to Evergreen Court if I can find a better place in the area, but many seem to be of the same "Eh. Not bad, but certainly not good" quality. "

"Wel-Life at Scottsbluff is our number-two choice; it was very good. The staff was good. They fed us lunch, and it was OK. I didn't see any problem with it. They were very good, and it seemed like they really cared. The place was well maintained. The staff who gave the tour answered every question that we had, although there were a few things missing, like we didn't get a pendant there. That's one thing that I didn't really agree with. I thought that the place was very well maintained. It was a unique structure; there were two different pods so there were two different courtyards. I thought that they did a good job. They also had a salon and a pool; they had everything. They screened us when we went in."

"I have moved into The Village at Regional West. It's fairly large. It has independent and assisted living and it's owned by the local hospital. The manager is terrific and has made a great deal of adjustments to help me because my furniture came two weeks later. I had very nice guest accommodations and they helped me get an appointment right away with my doctor to get my medications straightened out. They also helped me with rides to the doctor and the dentist. The grounds are really gorgeous, it's like an oasis. I can't believe there's such a beautiful place in the middle of the High Plains. There's probably five to ten acres and it's all in lawns and trees and there's a really large pond, so it has nice outdoor places to go. They've been very effective with my medications and getting things changed if they weren't right. The people have been very welcoming and invited me to different games and things and taught me how to play Pitch and Three Thirteen. However, they're shorthanded, which is not their fault. They're genuinely helpful and pleasant and do what I need done. The food here is very good and it is truly more like home cooking than the frozen stuff that is heated up and put on your plate. It could use some updating, but it's a very nicely maintained high quality place. There's evidently more demand for assisted living than there was at the time it was built, and so they need to convert a lot of the doorways and things to accommodate wheelchairs. They have lots of activities and they don't just have a schedule printed out, there are actual activities. The people are encouraged to play games in the evening after dinner, and they have musicians come in. The price seemed to be pretty much right in the range of all the other places in Oregon. There are lots of places that are at a much higher cost than this."
