"We went to the community. We were able to see just about everything. The staff showed us different apartments, and the dining room and went over all the specifics regarding that, the beauty shop, visiting hours, she went over the amount of staff that is usually there, and we talked about the money aspect of it. She went over the medication administration, and a lot of the patients came walking but they stay through hospice. They don't go anywhere else. They just stay there. The staff during the tour was great. Her father lives there and that helps when you know someone who has a relative that lives there. She said that we could come back if we wanted to try the food. They have balconies everywhere and a lot of light because they have a lot of glass everywhere. It's very nice They have a salon and an exercise room because they have physical therapy and occupational therapy there."

"The people who run this facility are amazing! They provide such good care to the folks hat live there. My grandmother is a resident and she enjoys her stay very much. There are plenty of activities to do such as bridge, piano lessons, and horse dice racing. The food is great also, I personally prefer the fried chicken but there is also other stuff such as great hot chocolate and fish sticks. The rooms are very spacious and would be a great place for anyone person o live at. I would highly recommend this nursing home for any elder looking to relocate from their home. "

"The Glebe was a very nice, large community in my price range. We had an excellent tour. The personnel seemed very good. The rooms were a little more spacious than the other place we visited. They could improve on the food in their little take-out store because it did not look so good. "

The 143-acre campus includes independent living apartments, garden homes, assisted living apartments, and health and rehabilitation facilities. The complex provides a continuum of care on one site with health care available whenever you need it. The Summit is located in the heart of Wyndhurst and is the anchor among a variety of shops and services available to the residents and the public. The Summit is a partnership between Centra Health of Central Virginia and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). It is governed by each of these organizations who serve without compensation. As a resident of The Summit's Independent Living apartments, I am assured of lifetime use of my home and I have access to all the community areas as well as the assurance of immediate medical needs. My apartment is cleaned regularly by friendly and efficient personnel, and I join my friends each evening in a lovely dining room where I am served restaurant-style my choice of dinners. My transportation needs are met if I do not have a car. This is life at its best. My choice of moving to The Summit was based on several factors. I wanted a senior home with beautiful grounds and location and I found it here. I wanted a home that guaranteed to support me in the event of a financial hardship and The Summit definitely did that in writing and I could not find that with any other home I researched. I wanted a home that adhered to the highest cleanliness standards and I found that at The Summit. I wanted a home that was small enough to know all my neighbors in a family way and I've found this at The Summit. I wanted a home where the staff members exuded commitment, faith, and love and that I've found at The Summit. Again, this is life at its best. "

"My mother-in-law has had an apartment on the assisted living floor for 2 1/2 years. She was living in her own home for over a year after her husband passed away. She is well taken care of and we don't have to worry about if the caregiver can make it to her home in bad weather or any maintenance issues anymore. The cost of living at Valley View was actually cheaper than staying in her own home with caregivers! It has been very easy to visit her in the apartment or take her to doctor appointments. All five of her children and extended family are very pleased with the decision. "

"Just wanted to like people know that my brother has been there for 3 years and being really taken care of. He get's (3) meals a day. They have activities for them to do and they make sure that they take their med's. I would recomend this facility to you. "

"The facility was very clean and the staff for the most part kept things out of the way of aisles. There are a good number of activities for the admitted that are available to those that can walk about by themselves, such as a lounge and outdoor porches. While my mother and grandmother were admitted into the facility, I was pleased with the care they received under the facility staff. I could tell that the staff care for the patients in the facility. I recall one instance in which I arrived from grocery shopping for my mother, a female nurse helped me carry her groceries from the ground floor entrance, even though I insisted it was fine. The staff always knew the amenities my relatives needed, like the time my mother need glucose (she is a diabetic) and were helpful when my overly obese grandmother needed help moving around in bed (she could not do it on her own). I am grateful that my grandmother was admitteAd into Guggenheimer for the service she received, all the way until the day she died there, some of the staff even attended the funeral. "

They had the facilities set up for the safety and well being of the residents. Everybody just wanted to help you and explained very well all the questions that we had."
