"We are at Covenant Village of Turlock and we're quite satisfied and very happy here. We've been here for a few years now. It's the best that we've heard of. We have exercises with equipment, swimming pool, gymnasium, hot tub, and we have a good chaplain and a chapel. We're in a three-bedroom place. We use it as our bedroom, guest bedroom, and office. We pay $5,000 with all of those things we have. We can be taken to a doctor's appointment and we have a nurse on campus. Everything is close by here in Turlock and hospital is across. The staff is excellent. The food is pretty good and a housekeeper comes in once a week. She'll do anything we ask her to do including laundry. We have a washer and dryer, complete kitchen, refrigerator, and freezer. On campus, we have assisted living and we have a care center. There's nothing that I would say is missing."

"What I like about Turlock Residential is the employees. They are very, very nice. I can get them to be here when I take a shower and they make our bed and get things for us. They're just really good here. The facility is older, but it's real clean. Some of the meals here are good, some aren't, like any other place (I wish for healthier food). I think the value of the money is good for me."

"My dad is at Golden Age. They have 10 homes, and they're residential homes. He is at the one in Effingham. They can hold six residents. The place is great. It's a small setting. In the larger communities, my worry was that my dad would get forgotten because there are so many people in there. With Golden Age, it is a residential home. It's like a family. All six residents come and sit at the dining room table together and have their breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You get a more warm and fuzzy feeling. They're not going to get lost in the crowd of other patients. Plus, they have hospice that comes in there. If the resident qualifies for hospice, they come to the house. There's a medical service where a doctor comes to the home to see the residents. I don't know how many times a week, but there's a nurse that comes in and make sure that the medications are fine. They check the patients over there, so they don't have to transport anybody from the home to a doctor's office because it's just not good to be taking them out. My dad has been there for about two weeks now. The staff are great. Food is fresh and cooked every day. The kitchen is right there, so the residents can watch the cooking going on. They're all together in the dining room and the kitchen. For the patients that are in there, they really don't have the mental capacity to do activities. I was there at lunchtime the other day. If they're having a sandwich or watermelon or whatever for their lunch, the girl will cut their sandwich up in squares. At least they're getting that hand-eye coordination because these people, their minds are gone so much that they can't do much. They can't do crossword puzzles because their brain is sick, so they do what they can. They do their best."

"My husband was at Welcome Home for about six or seven months. Our experience was very well. I would highly recommend it. The caregivers were very nice and very supportive of the residents. It's a residential home. They cook their food all from scratch and whatever the resident likes, they would try to make it for them and if they had a favorite food. They had TVs in each room. The caregivers were very sympathetic and very respectful of the residents. The facility was clean and well-lit. They have a backyard with bird feeders and a small garden where they would let them go out there and pick the fruit or the vegetables if they wanted to, but while we were there, they did not have entertainment come in. They would help them do exercises and they watch TV. If they wanted to read, they would read to them, but they didn't have what you would call activities. I think the prices were reasonable."

"We love Bethel Retirement Community, but it's out of our budget. The staff was really nice, open, and answered all our questions. Their dining area looked very nice, open and comfortable. They had a salon, workout room, and a pool."

"We went to take a look around this place. Staff wss nice they offered drinks and snacks in a really kind manner. Facilities is neat and tidy. Well-designed bathrooms and bedrooms. Beautiful backyard. Due of distance, we were unable to place my dad there. "

"Samaritan Village was very nice; like the landscaping was nice. It was just too far to walk from the apartment that we looked at there to the dining hall, because it's in an outer area. With my mom's knees she won't be able to walk that far, so that's the only reason why we didn't choose them. The staff member was very helpful and very nice to deal with. They had a cafeteria plus they also had a dining or restaurant, the rooms had full kitchens, and you can have a one-bedroom or a two-bedroom apartment. The apartments all looked out onto a grassy knoll, and they have concerts out there so you can go out to your balcony and watch the concerts."

"My husband just went into Stacie's Chalet. It's a really good facility. They treat the patients really well, and they are really nice. All the workers are great, so there is no reason to go anywhere else. I know they do painting, bingo, trivia, karaoke in the memory care until; they always have something going on. In the dining room, they have music every week, Bible studies, and preachers every four or five days a week. They do keep them busy. Since July, they have treated my husband really well. "

"We're leaving my mother at Casa De Modesto because it's affordable. It's really nice and they keep up with it. We're really happy with it. She's in the assisted living. It's not far from downtown Modesto. It's next to a suburban area, but it's also next to the main street of Modesto where there's lots of shopping. They have shuttles to take her to doctors' appointments. I like the community. They have a courtyard, and she's got a balcony that she can look out of. You can have a pet there. She has a two-bedroom for $2,100 a month, and it includes cable and utilities. She's been very happy with the nurse on-call and all the staff members. She's kind of independent. She had a car which she just stopped driving, so she didn't utilize the activities yet, but they do have a newsletter. They just had a band from Vegas that played, and they take them on field trips and out to dinner."
