"Dugger Mountain was a very nice, smaller facility. They were very caring and helpful. The dining area was just a small kitchen area with about three or four tables and chairs, and it wasn't really fancy. They were very gracious. The staff was very good and quite nice. It was a very quiet place and sort of tucked away in a small community. They only have ten or 12 rooms in the memory care section."

"Woodland Place had my grandmother for several years and I would not have chosen a different facility. They have the best food there, it was always nice and neat. The owners were amazing people. Their daughter was running it when my gramdmother was there she was fantastic. When my grandmother became ill and passed away the facility came to her funeral and cried with my family. They are a great facility I would recommend them to anyone. "

"I'm going to put my mother into Sunset Inn. We chose it because she lived in Talladega her whole life and a lot of people she knows live there already. They're reasonably priced and they offered things that are good for her. You could have a nice sized room and you could bring your personal things. There's no shower in the bathrooms, which I consider a positive because mom is a fall risk. They have nurses to take your loved one down to the showers and monitor them. It's all-inclusive and it has a hometown feel to it. You get up and go eat three times a day in the dining room and you can come in your pajamas before 12:00. After 12:00, they want you dressed. They set goals and keep them active. They're also small-pet friendly. Mom will have her own unit and she can still leave and come back, but she has that security of having full-time care and someone to check up on her. The coordinator has been very friendly, very helpful, following up, and working to help me financially to get my mom in. It's a clean facility and they do laundry. They have bingo, dominos, makeup classes, transportation, salon, and church services."

"The first time I visited Seasons of Talladega, I was about 3. I don't remember much about it, just that my father kept shaking the nurses hands and saying thank you. My great-grandmother and lived and died there, for all of the short time that I knew her. So my first memories of Seasons wasn't actually a happy one. Yet my mother would go on and on about how nice the nurses where and how they made the best of our bad situation. When I got older, I sang in my church choir, and we would tour nursing homes on sundays. Seasons of Talladega had become my personal favorite. The people were so happy to see us, and the staff was so sweet. They would even let us go into the rooms were the very old and sick where to sing them into good spirits. Being in the bible belt, most patients shared our beliefs in a higher power and even those how didn't would still get a smile from a tune. Of all the places we visited, none of them saw what we did as a calling but Seasons. The staff is completely understanding to the elders needs and treat them with the upmost respect. I was always welcomed with open arms when I would visit to walk the grounds and sit with patients I had befriended. The grounds were well kept, and even though it is a relatively small nursing home many of the patients where always out with the nurses soaking up sunshine. It wasn't a scary or sad place, but a place full of love and understanding. Seasons of Talladgea, isn't like many nursing homes. Seasons' isn't the place people go when they have given up, it is where they go when they need hope. "

"I've lived at Regency Pointe for 2 years and came here from a 20 acre farm. The change was a bit challenging at first but I've enjoyed the fact that I don't have to worry about up keep of my home and yard. I love the staff here. They are super helpful and really care about me. The community is very friendly as well. I enjoy the swimming classes the most. If you are looking to make your life easier, Regency Pointe is the place for you. "

"My brother was in Paden Ridge at one point. The rooms were small but the bathrooms were really large; that didn't really make sense to me. It was really clean. They had activities on different days, they had people to come in, there were services on Sundays and Wednesday evenings. I didn't care for the administrator, but the owners were very nice. The building was very accommodating, it had a back patio where the patients could go and smoke or just sit out and enjoy the air. Overall it was a very nice facility."

"My father-in-law is at The Meadows of Rainbow City. The price of the rent covers giving him the medications and the assistance. The staff is nice. So far, so good. They're very good, very caring, and thorough. It's clean, it's small, and the price is great. The food is good."

"My dad is currently at Oak Circle Assisted Living. It is homey, there is only 16 rooms and it is a family-owned business. It is nice and small. The staff are nice and very accommodating. He likes to have a certain kind of breakfast and they're fixing it for him. He likes fried eggs and they're giving him fried eggs. The room is a little bit smaller than where he was at before but I think it is probably tough for him to get around now, so that is even better for him. It is a small place. The dining room is nice and the kitchen looks large homey. There is a place to go out and watch television, like a gathering area, where they do puzzles. Everything else is just like a straight line with 8 rooms on one side and 8 on the other."

"My dad was a resident. The staff there was great. They were very involved, helping him a lot by bringing him meals, and helping him get dressed. The layout is gorgeous inside. When you walk in, there are fireplaces, and they always decorate, making it look like a place you'd want to go on vacation. It looks like a chalet. We had several meals with him, and they offered a lot of fresh options, including different dietary choices like kosher meals. The food wasn't fantastic, but it wasn't bad either. They have a lot of activities, but my dad wasn't very involved or interested in them. They had music, and I looked at their calendar, it just seemed like there were so many great things going on."

"My mother is in Oak Landing. From what we've experienced, the care has been pretty good. The staff members are all sweet and nice, and they're good to her, and that's all I care about."
