Margaret T Morris Center offers activities throughout the day, whether it's exercise, stories, or people that come in with pets. The caregiver staff is considerate. They're assigned to a small number of residents around the clock and the intake person, Melody, is marvelous. She's helping us understand where my wife is at and the level of care they give her. All of the staff I've interacted with have been magnificent. They're friendly and the place is devoted to dementia care. My wife is in a semi-private room, which means that she's sharing it with a roommate. She's never said anything negative about sharing it with her roommate and it's certainly an ample room. I could bring in stuff if I wanted to. I've brought some pictures, flags, and rewards. The person on the interface was very happy to arrange them on her wall and they've got a little memory touch outside in each of the rooms. There are ice cream socials twice a week, trivia contests, bingo, and so on. If you don't want to participate, that's OK, but their goal is to keep people out of the rooms, keep them socializing, and keep them intellectually active. She periodically gets a haircut, and it always looks pretty good. They have pedicure services and regular care consultations with the nurse and the intake person. There's a nice little dining area with four tables that will hold up to four people and the food is quite good. I see the menus every day and they have big meals at noon, and it's always interesting stuff that I would eat. They have a beautiful garden and a veranda so that people could be outdoors in good weather. They'll do some of their group activities out there too, and there's a koi pond where I spend a lot of time with my wife. It's relatively new and they just had a big remodeling of the place. It's impeccably maintained as well. I tried to figure out what the cost would be, but it's a nonprofit, so I can't imagine doing it any cheaper than they are.

The Margaret T. Morris Center is strictly for memory care. It's excellent, and we couldn't ask for better care. My mother is doing very well there. They have a lot of activities to keep the brain stimulated. They're very caring toward the residents. Her room is absolutely clean. They have beautiful grounds, outdoor areas, and walking trails that are enclosed in the back. It's beautiful.

Just visited today, very calm and soothing incitement. The garden is absolutely beautiful, and the food looked pretty good! The staff is friendly, warm, helpful and vigilant. Putting a loved one in a facility is hard on all who know and love them but this facility definitely helps knowing how well they are cared for and when you see the activities they are offered.

Margaret T Morris Center is an excellent nonprofit facility specializing in memory care. It's 50+ residents are divided into four identical neighborhoods according to level of ability. As residents progress through the disease, they are moved to a different neighborhood with people of their own level. The long term staff is very dedicated and caring. My 72 year old wife has been there for over a year and has been very happy there.

I recently visited this facility as I am looking for an assisted living facility for myself. I was greeted warmly and taken on a tour of the facility. I realized that the main objective of this facility was for "Memory Care" residents with dementia, alzheimers or less memory loss problems. This was not the type of care that I needed. The staff seemed very kind and gentle with the various residents. they did not encourage their fantasies nor did they play into their confusion; the staff repeated in a very gentle way would try to reorient the residents to present time & place. Regardfless of how many times they had to repeat the information. One of the residents was very fearful of her husband who was visiting as she claimed she did not know him. The aide who was with her just kept saying that he was a kind, gentle man who would not harm her in any way and that the staff member would remain with her and not leave her alone with him until she felt safe. It was more distressing for the husband than for the resident. However, he was told to take a seat in a chair a little bit away from his wife and to speak in a soft tone about things not necessarily try to convince her that he was her husband but to speak of familiar things or incidents from the past. I was impressed that there was such patience and gentleness from the aide toward this resident. I just hope that if ever I am in the situation of needing memory care that I can be placed in a facility such as this one appeared to be.
