Lakeview Estates had a very homey feel. We had to wait for our interview though, but we were sitting in an area where residents were also sitting, so we were able to see the staff coming through, talking to them, and interacting with them and it looked like they had a caring staff. They also have a good ratio of assistants to residents.
The rooms were spacious enough, clean, sunny, and it was just a pleasant atmosphere. The person who did the tour was very positive. She sold the facility and was able to convey that. She emphasized the homey atmosphere and said that she liked working there. The place seemed clean. The only thing I didn't like was it was two-story and the hallways weren't as wide as I would like them to be, but those are small issues at this point. They also have two outside areas, and because they're completely enclosed, no one could wander away. They are not locked either. They could go out any time they wanted.

My grandfather will be moving into LakeView Estates. My overall impression was very good. It's a very clean facility. The staff is very friendly. It's the most affordable place that we could find, but it still has all of the amenities that he would need. It seems to be a really good fit for him. They are really good. I don't have the complete schedule of what they do, but they said they offer two to three activities each day. It's definitely enough to keep them engaged and active. I think I'll be quite satisfied once he's settled in there.

I like the LakeView Estates' facility and the rooms, but I did not see enough active residents. Maybe I was not there at the right time, but I didn't see residents out of their room doing any activities or anything like that. I didn't see any hands-on care, and I didn't see any activities taking place. I only saw maybe one or two residents that were out of their rooms, and they didn't seem to be interacting with anyone or doing anything. I talked to Debbie, and she was very informative and very friendly. The rooms were very nice and they were adequate in space.

LakeView Estates was more convenient to where I live, but they had carpet on the floor still and in the whole facility. It's just a real turnoff to me because you're dealing with old people that are incontinent. The facility was older, but it did not smell or anything. Deborah took me around and gave me information. She made up for everything and was just wonderful.

We went to Lakeview Estates on a Sunday and without an appointment. All the elderly were in the rocking chairs in front and looked like they were enjoying themselves. The staff showed us around. They were cordial. The there was good. It looked like they had a lot of activities going on which was a key for memory people because they had to keep them busy. They had art classes. They gave them magazines and did collages. The rooms were much bigger, but the place was a little bit older. The grounds were nice. There was a pond, and they had geese. Even the people on the second floor had a patio, and there were grounds that they could walk around on.

I toured LakeView Estates. The rooms were nice amd clean, it had windows, and you had to put your furniture in. They were remodeling rooms which were empty. All the people I met were nice and seemed to be concerned about taking care of their patients. The thing I didn’t like was it was a multi-story; the room I would be getting was on the second level, and you have to use an elevator. It had a coded thing to get it to go up and down, and I can see that is not always the best thing. I saw the people sitting out there doing exercises.

I am a friend or relative of resident
My mother-in-law is now living at Lakeview. She continually states that "these are the nicest people, they take really good care of me, and it is so clean." We couldn't be more pleased with their attentiveness to her and all of the family who visits her. Lakeview is a secure, safe place for our loved one. We know that she is getting the best care possible at this difficult time in life.
