"We placed Margret at Dodge Park last September and we are really quite happy with it as of right now. I've been up to visit with her several times. She's well taken care of. Her primary care physician and psychiatrist are right at the rest home. She has round the clock care and people monitor her medications. She gets her medication on a regular basis. Prior to that, she was in her own apartment and she wasn't taking her medication on a regular basis. We didnt know how she was eating and that kind of thing and we were afraid she was going to fall because she has problems walking. I just got a notification that they're going to be offering a dental hygiene thats going to come right to the rest home and offer a cleaning. So the only thing that she has to go out for is like an eye exam with an ophthalmologist and I take her to that. The bottom line is, we're quite satisfied with where she is. The staff is very, very helpful and I really get the impression that they have the team concept there where people are really helping each other, and that's impressive. I've had meals there and the food is really good, restaurant style. They also take into consideration when somebody is diabetic. They have diabetic meals and so forth. The facility is older than Oasis but still very nicely kept. Its clean and there's no offensive smells (no smell of urine or anything like that). Her bed is made every day. When I was visiting with her the other day, there was a young lady who came in and she wanted to clean the window sills. Now, you know what I mean? How often does that happen? They provide some very good programs as far as things that people can participate in like some very nice programs around the Holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) where they have a meal and live entertainment. They have coloring, bingo, sing-a-long and movie night. As a matter of fact my sister has told me not to come over before 3 o'clock in the afternoon because shes busy. She doesn't want to be bothered with people coming and visiting her until 3 o'clock. For somebody in the rest home, she got a schedule. But, we are in a situation where we pay quite a bit for the first 2 years and then after that they apply to a government agency so that she doesn't have to pay anything else after that for the rest of her life. There must be other people in rest homes who know about this but when we were going to place her they were very quick to bring this to our attention. That we pay quite a bit for the first two years and if there's money left over the lawyer transfers it into a trust fund. So we think we have a good plan in action here."
