With Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, my mother's health has been deteriorating and it has been challenging to know how to help her as we care for her at home. Her doctor is slow to respond to our questions and concerns. When I contacted Lighthouse Hospice to see if my mother qualified, they sent someone out the same day. Since we signed up with this organization, we have continued to receive prompt, personal care. With Lighthouse Hospice helping us, we have received equipment to literally make our load lighter (a Hoyer lift) and even more so figuratively. Twice a week a nurse comes out to check on all of us--not just my mother. Five days a week we are getting help with mom's personal care. I have peace of mind that I can call and get answers and help 24/7 for our particular needs since their whole team (nurse, chaplain, social worker...) meets every two weeks to review and communicate about each client's situation. It is hard enough to deal with end-of-life issues. Lighthouse Hospice provides light and meaning as we deal with the loss of a loved one. I highly recommend this organization!
