We were able to hook up with Cornerstone VNA to get a day person that could come and help with my parent's breakfast and lunch. They help in getting my parents up, making coffee, and giving them breakfast and lunch. My mother has dementia, so they're able to play a puzzle or do something. They watch a show with my mom so my dad can rest. My dad is 92, and my mother is 90, so they really need quiet most of the day, and we're able to get that with Cornerstone. They are providing some paid people that we're paying per hour, and it's working out well. The girl we have coming is very bubbly and very giving. She said she thinks that this is her calling to help older people. She wasn't able to come Wednesdays and Fridays, but Cornerstone has been really good about changing the schedule around, and now, we're going to have her from Monday through Friday. We also have Easterseals, and they're providing a girl that helps with housekeeping. So now, we're pretty much covered through the day. That's what we were looking for without having to take the step of going into the nursing home. We're very pleased.
