Through the Meals on Wheels program, seniors aged 60 and older who cannot leave their homes easily can receive a meal delivered every Monday through Friday. These meals meet a third of the recommended daily dietary allowance for the individual. This is a free program run by volunteers, but seniors are encouraged to contribute a donation for their meal.

Through the Redding Electric Utility’s Low-Income Energy Efficiency Program, seniors and other low-income individuals can get free education and help to make their homes more efficient. Repairs are limited to $500 per homeowner per year. Money comes in the form of a grant that the senior doesn’t have to repay.
