Our recent experience with this particular group is mixed. The nurses and aides who aides our mom were very compassionate and knowledgable. They helped us through a very difficult time. However there seems to be some administrative problems in the organization. Mom was in hospice care only 10 days and medication was promised to give her comfort however it didn't arrive until just before her death. Her last day and night were extremely uncomfortable for her and needlessly because we did not have the medication that would have helped her. Our hospice nurse Tina tried all she could to get the meds and eventually we had to go pick them up ourselves. We have used hospice in the past for other relatives and have never had an experience like this. The patient's comfort should be primary and this organization needs to fix what is wrong with their system.

These people are angels. While you never hope to need to use hospice, these are the people to call if you do. The staff is amazing. The service is exceptional. They go above and beyond. They are wonderful at what they do. They provide a multitude of services and everyone we came into contact with was kind, friendly and great at their job. My mother was a hospice patient with Vitas for 2 years and we couldn't ask for more. She received exceptional care until the end. I cannot say enough good things about them.
