Administration very disorganized and misled our family. We were told Vitas would take care of all of our administrative paperwork to move to a rehab center. When they showed up to discharge us they said they don't do that. It is all about the money for their company. However the Dr. and nurses were wonderful but do not trust or sign anything until all necessary needs are met.

My sister was under the care of VITAS in Palm Beach County and received excellent care. The Doctor visited her everyday, managed her pain and ensured that she was comfortable. She made herself available to answer all our questions. The nurses visited her around the clock, were very kind and caring and became part of our family,. It was a very difficult time for the family, but they made her passing easier to deal with. Thank you, VITAS you will always be in our heart. Carol J.

Our family is having a very poor experience with dealing with the Vitas administrative staff arranging the care for our loved one. We were told to meet someone to sign papers for crisis care at the facility where our aunt was a patient.The Vitas representative showed up 3 hours late though we had been initially advised that someone was on the way to meet us. No arrangements were timely instituted to provide a caretaker to relieve the one on duty. There was a gap of 2 hours without a caretaker. The administrative staff was more concerned about securing a particular contract than securing the coverage for the patient. The administrative staff failed to reflect an understanding and compassionate feeling for the family going through a difficult experience to provide the best care for a loved one. Fortunately most the caretakers, themselves, seem to be providing warm and professional care for the patient. We do feel that any information on our aunt has to be initiated from us. Information on her condition is not forthcoming but an answer to our questions. Vitas is obviously understaffed for caretakers because they have come from other proprietary agencies than from Vitas, itself. The communication between Vitas and Morselife seems to be poor.
