Catholic Hospice-Broward had a senior nurse who was in charge of my mother's case. The nurse would come several times a week, evaluate her, check in on her, and advise as to her medications and dosages, as well as any other care that might needed. In addition, she would order all the meds and all the supplies that were necessary. She was phenomenal, very professional, very courteous and compassionate. She spoke Spanish, and we're Hispanic, so that was a big plus. My mother just fell in love with them. They have also sent an aide three times a week to bathe my mom. The aide was really sweet, very patient, and very understanding. When necessary, the nurse (in conjunction with the doctor) would change medications as needed. If my mother were having some type of crisis, then they would send a 24-hour round the clock care, in order to monitor my mother until she was restabilized. Those nurses were amazing, too. They worked 12-hour shifts from 8 to 8. Everyone was so sweet and so professional. When my mother's health was obviously declining, they called their continuous care team to be with her throughout that process. They had to be more on top of her readings as they were giving her medications according to the readings. They were more on top of shifting and repositioning as well, always cleaning her, and doing all kinds of stuff. That was what nursing really is. They were amazing. They even have a 24/7 hotline. If I had any issues, I would just call them (even if it's 3 in the morning).
