Brookdale Hearthstone Moses Lake is an assisted care facility that's medium scale. It's not too small, not too big. It seems approachable. It seems that there are activities coordinated by the staff for the residents to participate in. The food was highly rated. The room that we are taking is large with lots of amenities for the price. We're going for the two-bedroom setup. The directory of the facility gave the tour and it was very informative. They have offsite trips. They have internal crafts and activities like bingo, movie night, and exercise classes. You just need some things that are easy to participate in or even just watch and they have that because I sat down there and I watched. The grounds are very nice and some rooms have views and that was also a plus. The room that we're going for has a deck/balcony, and it has views of the lake and downtown, so it's great. The grounds are very well-kept. The lawns and plantings are very well kept. The building itself is not brand new. It is a little dated, but they are remodeling it and updating it as they can. The director was very knowledgeable, understood what I was looking for, and I challenged her to tell me why her place was the best fit for my mom, and she had good answers.

Brookdale Hearthstone Moses Lake was nice, though it could use some updating in some of the rooms and hallways. The director didn't seem to be as knowledgeable about the different things that they offer. I don't know if she was newer or just still learning. The part of the facility that she showed me that my mom would have been staying at was the newer remodeled side, which was nice. Then, she showed me the other side where I could see that it needed to be updated. The carpet and walls and stuff just looked like they had been there a long time. She showed me a one-bedroom and a studio, but the one-bedroom would have been quite a bit more money. They had a poster on a board that showed different activities that they had. They had two different areas where people could eat. They had one area where if people had certain handicaps and didn't want to be around other people who didn't, they could sit in this room. It was kind of like they were dividing them. One thing I liked there was they had a little chapel area where they had a different pastor or minister or whatever come once a week and have a little sermon. It's just that, overall, I didn't get that real comfort vibe.

I had a great tour at Brookdale Hearthstone Moses Lake. Everybody was super helpful and answered all my questions. I met three different people and I was quite happy to go there. It was super clean and the room was huge. They offer a lot of amenities. They have a beauty parlor, a worship area, dining areas, a library-type living room area, and outside seating like patios. They also offer a lot of different activities and entertainment that come in.

Mom is at Brookdale Hearthstone Moses Lake. So far, the place is OK and clean. She is in a studio room that is too small. I ate an OK lunch there.

I can't say enough good about my experience with Emeritus at Hearthstone. I was holding on by a thread, and I believe this was a community of 'angels' lifting me up. EVERYONE who helped me was wonderful, caring, cried with me, gave me hugs, made this move so simple, I have such a HUGE burden lifted off my shoulders and I believe my mom will get the care, respect and compassion she needs. Janie walked me through everything, Angela assessed my mother's needs, Virginia handled the financial aspect of becoming a resident, I can't remember the nurse's name, she was wonderful, handled all the meds and medical information, everyone made this transition SO EASY..I am so relieved. This was all put together in three and a half days and tonight my mother is in her new home. She has gone from a very stressful living situation to a caring, capable, compassionate home. I will be forever grateful to all the staff who made this happen for my mother and for myself. I congratulate you for hiring people who truly care.
