Monroe Canyon is a very nice assisted living. When my dad got there, he started to go downhill and his dementia got worse. They couldn't keep him because they're not licensed for that. Nevertheless, he loved the food there. It was home-made and had the best dessert. Every day they had activities but they didn't get out of the building much. Because residents were more mobile, families would come and take them here and there, so they're not as restricted. Some of the staff were very respectful and caring of my father, but others were very intolerant. Since my father is very hard of hearing, he went to the activities but did not participate. However, the staff wanted him to stay in his room most of the time, which I didn't like.

The facilities from top to bottom have excellent staff, health care workers, and Rn available, 24/7 care, and wonderful food. If you want a homelike atmosphere for your loved on. This is the place to go.

I have visited Monroe Canyon Assisted Living, but my husband requires more help and care than they are able to give. It is an excellent facility, and it isn’t very large. It’s clean and home-like. The staff has good interaction with the residents. They’re very helpful, very pleasant, very kind, and very concerned. People there seem well cared for and happy. The food is very high quality.

I found the environment to be very accommodating for my friend. He really like it too, considering he had Alzheimer's we will mainly focus on my review. I noticed that he was well cared for. Staff continually checked on him around the clock, looking for healthy signs. He had access to several activities and plenty of room to roam. There was a television, rocker, board games and cards. The food was great, well balanced nutrition wise and ample portions. Excellent lighting, staff, facilities, food, management, location, environment, view, makes this a place I wouldn't mind fading away at. Basically it looked like it could be a retreat, perhaps a place to go on vacation. Well trained friendly staff made me feel right and home and listened to all my concerns and recommendations. I saw on negative side and that was the tight security at doors. It almost felt like a prison for our elderly. Granted we need to keep them and their belongs safe it seemed excessive.
