My husband was in the Heights of Atascosa for three months for rehab. The nurses and staff treated him well. It's clean, good, and kept clean, but my husband didn't like the food. Some days the food was OK, but not for him. They take him to rehab several times a week, and he liked that, but he did not participate in the activities like bingo and trips outside.

The place was very clean. The rooms were nice. The food was fine and the care was fine if your loved ones could take care of themselves 24/7. But if they need help in the night, they would not get it there. I put a sitter with my father-in-law around the clock during his short stay there and even the sitters told us they did not get help from the staff from 11 o'clock at night until 6 to 7 in the morning. They just ignored it. While he was there, his dementia became worse and they told us that we have to move him to a memory care. So, we agreed to start looking for a memory care and then within about four hours they told us we had to move him the next morning. So we were forced to move him.
