"Lakeridge Nursing and Rehabilitation is an old facility, but it's still very well cared for. The size is something that I liked. It's not an overly large community and the people are genuine and caring. Their room is being shared for two people. It is open, has two closets for both, a shared bathroom, and then dividing curtains between them. They also have an outdoor courtyard area that some residents can go out to, weather permitting. They have a dining area that's pleasant looking and an area up in the front where the residents were down there being entertained with some music."

"I have put my parents at SouthHaven Assisted Living, and it’s wonderful. My parents are very close to the staff; any need we have, they take care of it. Mother needed a lot of care at first, but she is doing much better now. They help with toileting, brief changes, and bathing. They do housekeeping once a week, and Mother gets her hair done."

"We got mom into Heritage Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. We're rather pleased with that. It's fantastic. They're very nice to her. I call her every day. I got her a cellphone so that we could talk to her, and the nurses are very, very cooperative and they help me. The administration has been super cooperative, so I'm very pleased. I'm very impressed with the staff. She says sometimes the food is a little dry, but it is OK. She just doesn't eat that much. The outdoors are fantastic. The parking is a little tight, but beyond that, it's fine. It seemed to have everything that we needed and mother needed to get in there, so we just took it."

"Our visit at The Porch Swing was very nice. The people that were there seemed happy. What stood out for me was the owners and how dedicated and caring they were for the residents. This place was really my first preference for Mother. It is a private home. It is a smaller facility. They only keep three women. The ambience was wonderful. The facility was extremely clean. One of the residents was eating lunch while we were there and it looked good. I didn't meet any other staff. It was only the husband and wife that were there. They were a wonderful couple. They were very sweet people. They are there for 24/7 but they do have some staff that comes in and helps when you need them. "

"I moved into the Residence at Wolfforth. They don't maintain the common areas. They don't clean. They don't have somebody clean the common areas. It's a nice-sized room: the kitchen, the living room, the bedroom, and the bathroom. There's a shower, a washer, and a dryer right across from each other. So, it's all in one apartment. The washer and dryer come with the apartment and all the kitchen appliances. They provide the water. You pay for the electricity, and get your own internet and everything. It's a comfortable apartment. I'm happy with the apartment. It's just that I wish they would have some maintenance come in and mop the floors, and do things like that. All they have right now is a staffing agent, and they expect her to clean, but she's too busy being a staffing agent to do the cleaning. I really like her. She's a good person, but they're expecting too much out of her. A maintenance crew comes in every once in a while, when something goes wrong, as far as cleaning goes."

"My husband stayed at Crown Point Health Suites. They were all individual rooms, and they were large. Each one had a wheelchair accessible shower. The staff care was excellent. There was a big community room where they showed movies and played games and stuff like that. There were several wings, and each wing had their own dining room and their own kitchen. The food was fabulous. Interaction with the staff was fabulous. My husband was one of those cheerful, chitchat, tease kind of people. The staff really enjoyed him as much as he enjoyed them. There was physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. He was in declining health, and his strength was declining, and after so many days therapy was not needed or appropriate, because he was declining instead of progressing. There were a few little glitches in the room and maintenance was there within an hour. The facility was really clean. I got to know some of the long-term residents a little bit, and they seemed very happy there. The director was really good, but the residents did not come to the activities very much. The movie afternoon was well attended and they had things on the calendar almost every day. It's kind of expensive, but the care was really good."

"The staff at Angels Arms are beyond kind and patient. My mom struggled a lot with psych issues and despite it ultimately not being the best fit for her extremely volatile nature, they really tried to make her comfortable and help her. The ladies who work here have the patience of saints. The owner was very kind and helpful as I tried to navigate all of this on my own from across the country. Everyone who visited raved about how attentive the care is and quality of food. I am sad that it didn’t work out, but would 100% recommend your loved one live here. It seems like a very calm and peaceful home. I can’t thank them enough."

"The care is second to none. Fancy buildings with crappy care do not impress me. You can feel the love when you walk in the building. Everyone is treated like family. The building is old, but the love is renewed every day. The residents feel at home, the food is good and the nurses are exceptional. The staff always notify you if something is going on or condition of family changes."

"We went to see The Phoenix House in Lubbock while we were there scouting out assisted living facilities for our aunt. It looked well tended from the exterior. The interior rooms are all lovely -- from the foyer sitting room to the community and activity rooms. All were designed with senior access in mind. They have many events and socials scheduled, as well. The residents are treated to many invigorating and stimulating outings in and around the area. The dining areas feature nice furnishings and great looking and smelling home-style food that the chef cooks in a healthful way, matching any dietary need necessary. Residents may place special requests at any time. The snacks are available continuously. They also encourage guests to visit as much as they like. Many people from the community come to entertain and socialize with residents regularly. They provide individualized service plans for each resident, including exercise, and assistance with ambulation and personal care as necessary. It was clear that they keep the residents in mind first and foremost. This is a nice facility with well-cared for resident and a caring, kind and dedicated staff. "

"I moved my wife to a Mountain Top facility about three weeks ago. I have seen nothing but respect and love for her and her care. The meals are very good and my wife enjoys them. it is indeed a comfortable and Christian home like environment. The people that work there are very nice and they are friendly. I am always greeted with a smile!"

"Tanglewood Village was really older, small, clean and quiet. They only had two tables in their dining area. It was more expensive than others that were nicer; I don't understand why. However, it was very clean and the people were very nice and very helpful. "

"Our experiences with Raider Ranch have been very good. Mom has always been in the independent living and that's where she still is. They pay attention to her. They check on her at mealtime three times a day. They have a dining room or you can have your meals delivered to your room, which we like. Before she got so sick, she took advantage of each of those. She would go down to the dining room sometimes, and then other times she had her food delivered, and the food was quite good. They have three buildings and they have an activity room and a gym in each one and a living room with a big screen TV. They have a swimming pool and some walking paths outdoors. They have activities every day but she was not taking part in very many of those. They have bingo, bunco, and other card games that they play down in the living room a lot. She preferred to read in her room or watch a movie or something like that."

"Bender Terrace is a delightful place. When I went with my mom and grandma to visit, looking for a place for my grandmother, we were thrilled. It has a warm, friendly feeling all about it. We felt it would be something my grandma could grow into, and still keep a feeling of being independent as well. It is in a good area in Lubbock, well maintained and quiet. I really liked that they had transportation available to the residents, and also housekeeping services, activities, and meals could be included. Even though we did go with another place, this is certainly one to consider. "
