My mom has moved to Arabella of Athens. We chose them because they have memory care. There are not a lot of choices in memory care, and they are an excellent option. The facility is beautiful and they are professional, we feel blessed to have found them. They're working with us, and they do have a desire to make us happy. The food has been excellent. We've only been there recently, but so far, we're very pleased. They do have some activities in the memory care unit that is appropriate for my mother. It's not like I've seen tons of activity, but I think they're doing very well for mom with the memory care issue.

My brother and his wife will be moving into Arabella of Athens. It was very pleasant, open, and airy. All the staff seemed very nice. They had a chef on duty that cooks meals. They have three different areas. One area is independent living, in which you have a place for your car and a door that leads out from a little apartment. Then they have the assisted living. It also has a little apartment, but it's inside. You can't go outside or anything, and it has no garage. I think if you wanted a garage, you could, but you would not have your vehicles there. We got a 1-bedroom with a kitchen and a walk-in shower. It has lots of flowers and greenery. They have a class three times a week for exercise. They have a green thumb class that you can participate in for flowers, gardening, and stuff. They have a library. There is a movie theater that you can watch movies inside their facility with the popcorn machine. The other types of rooms would be once they go into memory care. I think it was just very good. I haven't tried the food, but I saw it coming out. It was prepared by a chef. They have pretty good choices, and they have selections.

I was able to tour Arabella of Athens. It's a very nice facility and very well run. It's fairly close to home also. It's a very clean and very well-maintained facility. They are very accommodating. It was quite remarkable for what they could do, and it's a small enough community that I think the client would get good care. The marketing director was very knowledgeable and very helpful. This was her day off, but she accommodated us; we appreciated that. We couldn't see inside the room. They didn't have one that was available to look at, but the layout is nice. They have housekeeping and everything right there, so it really makes it nice. They have a whole activity board. They have something daily for their clients. I didn't take particular note, knowing that my mom is not a real social person; they do have a lot of activities and outdoor areas for the seniors.

Arabella of Athens was very nice. But at this time, they did not have an opening for anybody at memory care. Overall, it was excellent. They were very clean, they were very nice and they were very helpful in giving us information about the place. The lady that took us on the tour, showed us everything there. It was just nice. When we saw the residents, it looked like they were happy. The staff was very knowledgeable. It looked like they knew the residents by name, when they met somebody they called them by name.

I like everything about Arabella of Athens. I like the location and the staff, and the food is excellent. The people here are pretty nice. It's a great facility, it's clean, and it's well kept. We have an ice-cream parlor and a very nice dining room. There's a fishing pond, games, and that kind of thing. We play games with other people, like mini-tournaments. I'm quite satisfied.

Arabella of Athens was very pretty. It's in a rural environment, and it had well-kept grounds. The inside of the facility was very nice, modern, and clean. They had nice amenities. The staff was very professional and did a good job of answering my questions. They had a movie theater, a nice dining room, and a meeting area. The rooms were small, but adequate. The menu looked very good and had a good variety. The staff talked about some of the activities that were available. There was a bible study every day in the morning, movie nights, and ice cream socials. They could have done a better job of explaining to me what all of the activities were in a little more detail.

We looked at the independent living of Arabella of Athens, but a section of their building is for memory care also. It was neat because the independent living goes all the way around, and it's almost like walking in a Mexican style place. Everything is on the ground floor, but if you walk into any of the open areas you end up in a courtyard with all the other courtyards going around it. There were actually one- or two-bedroom apartments rather than full cottages. They didn't have garages when we walked into the community, but they had little fenced in patio areas. The fence is a little bit higher than the waist, so someone needing memory care wouldn't be able to leave the community unescorted, but they'd still be able to go out and sit in the patio area. We've seen the residents sitting out there at night and roasting marshmallows or bringing out cookies and drinks, and they just share with everybody. Even the people in independent care have a lot of chairs and different things. You have your own patio area, but sitting out there would be like having your front yard, and then there's the sidewalk, and the whole courtyard going around it. The staff member who gave us the tour said a lot of the times the other residents would sit in an area where the memory care residents can come and join them. So the memory care patients are still very much included. We saw a woman from the independent living with her dog in the patio area, and she was talking to a few residents from the memory care unit, and they invited us to join them and chat. I think that was done very nicely.

Arabella of Athens assisted living is very nice and well-kept. The rooms are larger and have a separate bedroom versus what my mom has now. The place is not very old. They have cards, movie theatre, hair salon, craft room, and a gym. The lady I met with there was nice and very informative. The dining area was nice and like a restaurant. They had a garden area.

Arabella of Athens was nice, welcoming, and clean. Everybody was friendly and offered us what we were looking for. The rooms had a separate bedroom and backdoors to an outside porch which was nice. They had a beauty shop, shopping excursions, flower arrangements, cards, and a little ice cream parlor. They have assistance with medication and dressing, and a doctor on the premises. They offered three meals a day. The staff was very nice, friendly, and answered questions.

I liked the rooms at Arabella of Athens. I loved the facilities and the people, but I did not like all the carpets. It had carpet everywhere, even the dining room, and that's what I did not like about it because of the messes you'd have to clean up. I saw people playing dominoes and games. They had lots and lots of activities available. The place was clean and nice. The employees were very nice.

Arabella of Athens seemed very clean. The people were friendly. The people who lived there and the people who ran it were very pleasant. People could play games, board games, or watch TV. They served three meals a day. They had a van that would bring people to their doctor's appointments. The staff was very accommodating. They showed me one room that was actually the one they had available, but it was too small for me and my husband. They didn't have a two-bedroom available at that time.

Arabella of Athens was very nice, but it was just really big. The person that helped me was wonderful and informative. We had a long discussion, and I liked everything I saw. She took me in and showed me a couple of the rooms and around the whole facility. I really liked the apartments a lot. Everything was just wonderful. Because it was divided up like a little apartment, there was a kitchen, a living room, a bedroom, a nice size bath, and a nice size closet. Then, it had a little patio.

Arabella Athens is really upscale. They had assisted living and independent living. They were great and had a lot of different activities. They had great dining room where you can probably eat anytime you want. It's an upscale, really beautiful place, but it's nothing we can afford.

Our experience at Arabella of Athens has been very positive. My parents are a resident of the place now. All of the staff that works there is very attentive and friendly. We couldn’t ask for a better experience. The place is beautiful and clean. We are very pleased with it. They do have different activities like games and movies. They have their own movie theatre. They have ice cream parlor. They also do crafts. Every single person that lives there loves it and they are extremely nice.

Arabella of Athens was a beautiful facility, and the people were very friendly, kind and inviting, and we liked it. The apartments were beautiful. They showed us one that has a lady living in there, so we could see it with the furniture and everything in, and it was very nice. There was one lady who answered all of our questions. She couldn't have been more helpful. She spent any time with us that we needed and invited us to come back. I stay in contact with her by email, and she continues to answer any question that I have. We saw their movie theater. The dining area was beautiful. It's a fairly new facility, so everything looked very nice.

Arabella is still under construction, but it looks like it's going to be a very nice facility. They are close to hospital and doctor's offices. The independent part on one side and another side for the assisted living and in the middle of that they are going to have trees and gazebos, so I think that is very nice. The staff was very caring and showed us all around and was really trying to help us.
