"My dad has moved into The Village at Skyline Pines. It's very clean, very well run, and very welcoming. They have a movie theater and a little store. They have kids come in and sing. You're as busy as you want to be because they have activities and stuff all the time. His room has a stove, a microwave, a little sink, and a little bit of cabinets. Their rooms are really nice. Every time anybody moves out or anything, they go in and paint. Everything is neat and tidy. They came and hung his TV and hung pictures on the wall. The food is good, and the staff are great. They check on him all the time. He has been very happy with everything. He hasn't had anybody that he didn't like. It's expensive, but it's not any worse than any place else, and it does everything he needs."

"Westhills South Assisted Living Facility II is state of the art facility which offers very warm, highly friendly neat and clean atmosphere to reside. It has been visited by me with my uncle last month. It has been tailored to offer all necessary amenities to the individual as per the needs of every resident. The facility has employed highly trained and qualified staff which is ready to lend a helping hand with anything from laundry to medication management. The internet, library and media facilities are readily available to remain in touch with the loved ones and get first hand knowledge of their well being. I found the management staff rich in their experience of handling assisted living facilities. Food provided is of high quality and strictly in line with the advice rendered by the nutritionist. "My mother stayed at Westhills Village when she had a cracked hip. The location was great. The staff and being there was all a very high 5 out of 5. It was a very nice facility. There were great activities for her. She's pretty limited, not being able to do much of anything. She can't walk or anything, but they get her where she needs to go. They had soups, salads, hot foods, cold cereals, puddings, and drinks. It was all good."

"My husband has moved in at Morningstar Assisted Living Center and he's doing very well. The staff is fantastic. It's like being at home. My husband's room is large and more than adequate for his needs. It's a gated community. They have exercise time and game time every day, and entertainment once a week. My husband says the food is very good. What I like most about this place is they treat the residents as family."

"We toured Good Samaritan Society - St Martin Village, and it had been a positive experience. The apartments looked very good, and the dining area looked lovely. They had exercises and other activities. It had a very attractive and inviting atmosphere. Their meals could probably be better."

"I went to Fairmont Grand Senior Living. I like it because it's smaller. The distance from the rooms to the dining hall was short because sometimes the elderly people are not able to go as far, with their walkers. It was just a nice facility, and the staff seemed very nice. I like the rooms. They were decent-sized, you didn't feel like you were in a little tiny shoe box. I like the facility. It would have been my choice if they could have worked it out."

"I loved this place... right in the middle of things in down town rapid city so there is a lot to do... lots of shops and restaurants nearby and of course regional health's main hospital is only a mile away which is really comforting in case there is ever a need... "I was not impressed with Golden Living Center - Bella Vista because it seemed kind of old and run down. It looked like they were pretty well staffed because I saw a number of people who seemed trained for memory care. I was quite impressed with the staff. "

"My wife is staying at Fountain Springs Healthcare Center and it is very, very good, but it's also very expensive. It's $317 a day, which is pretty high. She's still in therapy now so it could still drop down to $273, but that is still $8,200 a month. I would love to keep her there but I can't sustain that for very long at that price. She is getting excellent care there though, there is no doubt about that. The room she is in right now is not particularly nice for a long term, so I might have her move to a different room. Medicare will no longer pay for that so I can probably get a nicer room now that I am paying for it. The food has been excellent, they're feeding her really well. They also give her snacks. I was with her the other day to eat lunch and she had a very good lunch. It was pulled pork with tater tots, parsleyed carrots, and a cookie for dessert. It was really good. I haven't seen too much of the food there but I have heard from others, and I understand that the blueberry pancakes for breakfast were excellent too."

"My mom is at Avantara North. It is very good. The staff is great. It's just a nice facility. It's clean. Everybody is very helpful and pleasant. The food is good. My mom enjoyed it. They have a variety. She has never complained about it. She just said that it's very good. They have arts and crafts, exercises, and bingo. They always have something going on every day."
