"My great grandmother was in the care of Osage Nursing Home. I toured the facility initially with my mother and grandmother and found the staff to be very nice and respectful. The facilities do not have much in the way of amenities but the residents seem happy. My grandmother's room was always kept up and clean and she had many friends at the facility. We actually moved her to a nice assisted living facility because we thought it would be a better fit for her do to all the activities and amenities but she chose to come back to the facility in Nowata. She said she like the residents and staff better and felt more comfortable there. The only complaint I would have is that residents easily could go in and out of each other's rooms and sometimes that can be scary for women at night. It might be better if there was a way to lock their door at night and the nurses had a key. I know she would have felt a little safer that way. "

"The Hays House nursing center seemed to be kept in a clean and orderly manner. I happened to live out of state so I was not able to visit as often as I would have liked. My grandmother did complain of too many people having access to her room. My grandmother did enjoy not having to cook meals for herself, although she would have preferred to eat chicken fried steak and fried potatoes. She missed baking her famous pecan cookies and homemade bread. My grandmother complained about the noisy residents in other rooms and stayed mostly by herself. She did not have a television in her room for the last three months of her life, and I am sure she was quite bored. My grandmother did not like the smell at the nursing home, she said it smelled like old people. My grandmother was found dead sitting in her favorite rocking chair. She was dressed up, had her shoes on, and her purse was by her feet. "

"My husband was at Ignite Medical Resort Adams PARC. He had to share a room there. They split the room and there was another patient in the room with him. They had to share the sink and the bathroom. I thought it was very, very small. He didn't have his own room. The food was good. My husband had macaroni and cheese and steak. The staff were great, and they were all really good. They all seemed to like my husband. He's a very ornery person. He gave each of the staff and the nurses kind of a hard time, but they treated him very well. He did have his own TV. Medicare took care of it. My husband had so many days through Medicare that he could stay there. The staff were all good at letting me know if I needed them ever again or if I felt like him coming home was going to be too much for me like I could always call them within a short amount of time, and they could help him come back there and stay and they would continue taking care of him."

Her room is very nice. She has her bed in there and there's a room for a TV and a couch, but she doesn't have a kitchen. They have an outside patio and they can garden out there if they want to but they have to have a nurse or an assistant with them at all times."

They shared a bathroom, but they had a wall between the two residents that made it a little more private. I didn't see the food or the menu, but my husband's second cousin never complained about it. "We toured North County Nursing and Rehabilitation/Rapid Recovery Suites for my dad. It was old and rundown. The room was semi-private, the one she showed us looked very cluttered, small, and claustrophobic. The staff was extremely nice. The dining area was very nice, and she said they had an actual chef on staff. She said the food was excellent. It was a very depressing place. The funny thing about that particular facility is if you go online, I don't remember if it's an Oklahoma website, they have five stars whereas the others only got three stars. It's because of the care that they give, not because of the facility and the way it looks. It's the care. But we didn't like the way it looked. It felt very close down and claustrophobic, and it smells like pee."

"We have my mother in to assisted living place right now and that is The Brookfield. We went in and looked at several, and this one looked like they had caring people. They had a clean facility and good food. This would be a nice place, and it was very clean and well-kept. She is in a private room. They have their specials everyday, and then you can also order off the menu if you want. Staff, most of the nurses, and the people that are in-charge of different activities like check in and check out were very good. The manager's very chop-chop; things have to be done right. They are a little short staffed right now, but other than that, they tried hard contributing. They usually have one or two field trips a week to the lake and to take them to Wal-Mart. They have bingo, movies, art crafts, sing-alongs, and guys comes in to play instruments. "
