We moved my grandmother last week into Heritage Village Nursing Center. We are very happy with it. One of the reasons was the location, because the POA for Granny has moved to a town called McAlester, so this location was best for us because of where the POA is so she can be checked on quite often. They're very caring people. The food is good. The staff seems wonderful. Everything is clean. Just very good first impressions. She has only been there a week, but we are liking it well. They are renovating some of the rooms. There are still places that need to be renovated, but we see that there is a process that they are undergoing right now. It's very clean. I like the way the layout is with large sitting rooms for the families to come in and visit with our loved ones. They have better dining rooms than we had seen before. There are two dining rooms for the nursing home part. I really like it. A lot of their staff have been there for many years. They have a calendar of activities, and the way it looks, there is something almost every day. I feel like we get what we're paying for. Comparatively, with the last place where we had my grandmother, we had to pay extra for certain things, and Heritage Village has things already included. There is a lady on staff to do haircuts and nails, and we don't have to pay for that. I've been told that we won't have to pay extra for my grandmother's physical therapy or occupational therapy. It's all included in the price. It is less expensive than the place where we were, where we had a bad experience. I think we're doing well with what we pay for.
