"As you walk into the facility you enter into a grand lobby decorated at this time of the year with wreaths, Santas, and snowmen of different colors and sizes. Not one the same so as to represent all cultures. As you walk past the warm and cozy lobby the rest of the building invites you to stay and enjoy the surroundings. Nurses are busy talking with residents about their day and giving them the much needed doses of medicine. Aides are assisting the ones who need a little more help than others. All seem to be smiling at the ones offering them a bit of attention in their usually lonely life. Of course you have the other staff members who are running back and forth. Laundry bringing fresh linen to the linen closets and resident's bedrooms, kitchen bringing out homemade food, and housekeeping mopping up a spill or just tidying up a resident's room. During the day this little world inside this big building comes alive. People are busy with showers, meals, activities. Family arrives through out the day to spend time with loved ones. When you sit back and observe a person seeing their family for perhaps the first time this week or even month, you see a sparkle of recognition light up in their eyes and the love spread through their face. Even if you don't know the resident or the people visiting, it brings a smile to your face just to see the difference in the resident. So when I go into a nursing facility I not only see the beauty of the building and the nice decorations they have provided to make the nursing home look more like a home, but I also see the lives that live there. Each one has a different personality, humor, and soul. I never know what I am going to experience as I walk through the doors, but I know that perhaps that day I can stop and say hello to someone I don't know. To show someone who has no visitors a little attention. Perhaps I can change their day. Perhaps they can change mine. "

"My mother has been in Miller's Merry Manor twice. She was there for a few months and left because she wanted to move back in the house, but then she ended up breaking her leg and she's been back in there since December of this past year. She's been there overall about a year. I would rate them very high. It's a beautiful facility. The staff is extremely caring and nice. I have eaten there a number of times and the food is excellent. The rooms are big. She's got a nice 1-bedroom apartment with a huge closet, a fullt appointed large bathroom with all the facilities that she needs as far as handrails and a sit-down shower. They monitor her three times a day. They have plenty of activities. I can't say enough nice things about this place. They're really great. They have weekly trips, they take them shopping, and they take them to plays and other activities in the community, which she does participate in. She's happy where she is."

"I toured Blair Ridge Health Campus. What I found is that the staff was all very patient and reached out to communicate to us as a visitor, from the janitorial staff to the aides to those arranging the meals. The dining room was very beautiful with white tablecloths and chinaware. The residents were coming to the rooms earlier than was required to do a little visiting. It was a pleasant environment for them to come out of their rooms to have meals. We've been periodically visiting two people there: One is in independent care, and she has a very nice one-bedroom. It's got a small kitchenette, but no cooking facilities are allowed in there. She has an aide, who comes in to help her several times a week, and that's paid separately. It's independent care. The rooms and the laundry or things like that are very tidy and easy to work. It was a pleasant small apartment-type setting. The other lady that we visit is almost blind, so she's in a room where she has medical staff more available to her on an ongoing daily basis. She has been there several years, and she feels very pleasant about her experience. The independent care residents have their own little patio out there, so they're not locked in. And there's a chartered bus that comes and takes a group who may be going to some activities in town or doctor visits or such, so there's transportation provided. What I liked the most was that everyone on the staff we met as visitors was very pleasant and very helpful to us."

"My grandfather has been a resident at Chase Center in Logansport, IN for just over a year now. He and my family are very pleased with the facility and its staff. It is always very clean and well-organized. The food that is served to the residents is always healthy and well-prepared. The staff are all very caring, friendly, attentive, and patient. The residents are also offered many different individual and group activities to keep them active and engaged. The facility makes a great effort to make visiting and family time very easy and welcomed. My family was quite worried when we had to send him to a nursing home, but we are all very relieved now, as he is very happy and well taken care of here. I would recommend this facility to anyone who is having trouble caring for a parent or loved one. "

"My mother-in-law had been in Miller's Merry Manor for rehab. It was very clean and very friendly. The staff was very attentive. My mother-in-law was there for three weeks. Her room had one bed, a table, chairs, and a bathroom. It was very nice. Her insurance paid for it, so I had no idea about the price. My mother-in-law liked the food. I tried it, too, and it was good. They also have a swimming pool and a courtyard. They were on top of everything. It was nice; I didn't have any complaints. I took her laundry home because she was afraid that they would lose it, but they had laundry there. They had a dining area, too, and it was very nice."

"I am very impressed with the three facilities of Millers Merry Manor that I have visited. My mother is in the one in Peru, Indiana. I can give my best evaluation on that one. At Peru, I find that when I walk in I am greeted somewhere by a member of the staff or several members, on the way to mom's room. Mom is taken care of extremely well. I love the fact that they have what they call quarterly care meetings. She and I attend this with several members of the staff. They check to make certain her nursing care, food, health and activities are what she wants. They ask about things she does not like and the things she likes the most. If she mentions anything at all they are very quick to investigate and resolve any problems. I like very much the way I receive information. They call me if they change her medications, if they change her room, or if she is placed into Physical Therapy. They call me on anything.I am always asked if I agree with the plan or not. The staff is very good to listen. As I said I am very impressed with Peru, IN. I went on interviews at the other facilities which are Marion, IN and Wabash, IN. It was like walking in Peru all over again. The staff was warm and courteous. Even though I was a visitor they cared I was taken care of. I would recommend Millers Merry Manor to anyone who needs nursing care for long or short term care. "

"Our mother was there for rehabilitation for a fall at her home. We have always heard wonderful things about this nursing home and that it was the best place to go if you needed this type of care. The grounds of the facility are beautiful and they offer lots of activities for residents to do if they choose. Food is above average for a nursing home. However, we were disappointed in a number of factors. They appear to be understaffed at times. Our mother is in early stages of dementia and needs prompting for certain every day activities. She would not take a shower there. She packed her bags every day in anticipation of going home so many times her clothes were not washed. She did not sleep in her bed as she said it was too hard to get into and out of. We have one evaluation meeting in which we were told she would be there until her rehab was completed and they would know that it was done because they would take an xray. We were under the impression that we would have another meeting before this happened. We were not given any timeline of discharge or any help in determining our next course of action. Next we knew, they were discharging her (without an xray) and we were informed that we would need to pay their private pay fee of $265 a day or find other alternatives with barely 2 days to do so. No home visits were scheduled to see if it was safe for her to go home nor any discussion to that effect. Physical therapist would not return phone calls. We would rate the communication between administration and family as poor. "

"Upon driving into Timbercrest, one can't help be struck by the beauty and simplicity of the facility. Regardless of the season, the grounds are well-manicured and very well-taken care of. In the winter, there is never any ice or snow obstructing the walks; in the spring and summer, there are always flowers and planters placed everywhere. Although I have never had any prolonged contact with the staff, the facility always seems very-well staffed, and the receptionists on duty are always very friendly and eager to help. In fact, every employee that I pass by on trips in and out of the various corridors are always quick to say hello and ask me if there is anything I need.I think what impresses me most about Timbercrest is the facilities and amenities offered for residents. There is a large kitchen area that is available for residents to use for family reunions or other gatherings. In this area, there are also dart boards and pool tables. The exercise room is large and fully stocked with machines of all kinds, and there is a craft room, a hardware, and a variety of other specialized areas to entertain hobbies of all kinds. The grounds of Timbercrest -- those beyond the front door -- are beautiful. There are gardens and walking paths that are easily accessible for anyone in a wheelchair or motorized scooter, and this is where I have spent some of the best time with my aunt. "

"Upon walking in the door, the first thing I noticed is that it did NOT smell of urine. This means that the staff does change adult diapers on a regular basis. I did not hear anyone yelling for a nurse, or see any call lights on. This indicates to me that the staff answers the lights promptly. There was a nurse at the desk, who smiled and asked if I needed some assistance. The halls were free of clutter, and the building looked well maintained. The residents didn't seem unhappy at all, and I even saw a few outside in the courtyard enjoying the weather. "

"My mom has been at Grace Village for about 3 weeks now. I chose it because I heard good things about it. We went and looked at it, and I liked what I saw. The staff has been very helpful and very caring. She seems to like the food there. The facilities are very clean, and the rooms are big. They have places they can sit outside, and they have an aviary in the lobby. They also have church services."

"Great rehab center after my hospital stay. This facility is always clean and staff are always friendly. I stayed for rehab and was able to return home with the help of their therapist. It's a smaller facility but I was easily able to persoanally know all the staff which made me feel more comfortable. "
