Our mother was there for rehabilitation for a fall at her home. We have always heard wonderful things about this nursing home and that it was the best place to go if you needed this type of care. The grounds of the facility are beautiful and they offer lots of activities for residents to do if they choose. Food is above average for a nursing home. However, we were disappointed in a number of factors. They appear to be understaffed at times. Our mother is in early stages of dementia and needs prompting for certain every day activities. She would not take a shower there. She packed her bags every day in anticipation of going home so many times her clothes were not washed. She did not sleep in her bed as she said it was too hard to get into and out of. We have one evaluation meeting in which we were told she would be there until her rehab was completed and they would know that it was done because they would take an xray. We were under the impression that we would have another meeting before this happened. We were not given any timeline of discharge or any help in determining our next course of action. Next we knew, they were discharging her (without an xray) and we were informed that we would need to pay their private pay fee of $265 a day or find other alternatives with barely 2 days to do so. No home visits were scheduled to see if it was safe for her to go home nor any discussion to that effect. Physical therapist would not return phone calls. We would rate the communication between administration and family as poor.
