I have read the reviews and since my Mom has only been there a few days I can’t say to much. So far the food is not great since the food is institutional food it’s basically what you would expect. When I visit I call my Mom before I come to if she wants me to bring her something to eat and that seems to make sure she has at least two meals, since she seems to eat breakfast. One of the major problems is if you don’t have the person’s you want to speak to extension they don’t answer the phone. Mom was at another rehab facility about 5 years ago and that place was awful. It does seem it’s under staffed but if you speak to someone they seem friendly and try to accommodate your requests. I think they should get a new dietitian to make food more edible since I’ve spoken to quite a few patients and they all seem to complain about the food. I will right another review in a few weeks after Mom is there for a few weeks

I had a loved one at Huntington Hills in Melville, NY when you enter the facility and hallways it looks like a great place for a loved one to be treated at, if you take a tour of this facility don’t talk to the staff speak to the patient’s, you get a lot more information, I found out just because they give you a menu for the food for the next day don’t expect you’ll get what you asked for. Calling the main number nobody answers, and if you get the number of the nurse’s station, of course their not always someone there to answer the call so you can leave a message but, don’t expect a call back. Every patient has a phone but unless their mobile in the bed they can’t reach the phone ( every patient I spoke to told me this. ) The employees ( aides, nurses ) I saw on numerous occasions where a patient has pushed the button for assistance & the employees are busy talking amongst themselves instead of seeing what a patient needs. The room mate of my loved one when I came to visit asked me if there was a staff member in the hallway and there wasn’t he asked me if I could get him water because he said “ I’ve been given no pitcher of water all day “, I probably wouldn’t have believed the roommate if they had signs of dementia but he was as sharp as a tack. I could go on with other problems I noticed while my loved one was their but no water for a day? If you have a loved one who needs medical care after a hospital stay, I would suggest you keep looking for another facility.

This place is beautiful and they have the most kind and caring admissions team. They went above and beyond to get my mother in and they still follow up, visit, say hello just because. The nursing staff on the weekend is not the greatest but compared to other places this is like a 4 star hotel. I would put my mother here again for sure. The rooms are huge.

Awful. Just awful. They're understaffed, the food is gross and half the time you don't get what you ordered. Apparently, having a patient sit in a soiled diaper for over an hour is acceptable; talking nasty and inflicting pain is too, or so it seems from our experience. Don't bother complaining or talking to the people in charge. They just say what you want to hear just to get you out of their office.

My husband could not get out of bed on admission and was on oxygen after a two week hospital stay. The rehab staff Jennifer and Rick had him up and walking in a very short time. I visited each day and brought him dinner because I felt he would recover quicker with home cooking. However, I have no complaints about the kitchen staff. They were always responsive to any requests and made sure the menu was there for me to read when I came in the afternoon. The nurses were great, Sandeep was always diligent about checking is oxygen and BP and weaning him off both during the course of his stay. Nikita the RN was always responsive and helpful. Lindsay, Social guided us through all the processes and what to expect. She always returned my calls. and sorted out any question I had. The Aides assigned to my husband were kind compassionate and so hard working. They are overworked but they are caring compassionate people who do a difficult job day in and day out. They handle difficult patients and everyone is in a degree of pain when they come here but the aides take it all in their stride. Carline and Ms Parnell and many others who I didn’t get to meet took wonderful care of my husband. The place was clean and cheerful. The front desk staff were always friendly and the sign in system was digital so they just interacted with us on the 72 hour Covid testing which was a requirement and kept my husband safe so I was happy about that. I would use this facility again.

Please do not put a loved one in this place! It is a horrible place. My father in law couldn’t feed himself or get up to use the bathroom. He was told to go in his diapers. His food was brought in and left. We called and asked for help for him as he couldn’t eat or drink independently. When we called, we were told he was doing well and was able to have delightful conversations with a staff member. Not so! He could barely speak! My brother in law is having him removed as I write this. He went in in bad shape and is leaving in worse shape. This has been a nightmare for him and for us!

Had a wait 30 plus minutes for care or water! Sat in my dirty diaper and my lips cracked n bled. Once I reached my hand up as a worker walked by begging for water and she looked away.

My mother has been in Huntington Hills Center for Health & Rehabilitation since September. It took her a long time to get adjusted to it, 2 or 3 months, and I wandered in there and I think my mother is in a lot better shape than most of the people there. She said the food was good. They take them to arts and crafts, but my mother never made anything. I can't get in there anymore. I wasn't able to even get to her room with the pandemic. I just saw her in a big room. Her room was very clean, and the place was clean. Like everybody else, there are some good and some bad in there as far as the aides are concerned, but generally speaking, the nurses are good. She started in the rehab and then she went to the nursing home. We made a conscious decision that she couldn't go to assisted living because she was having trouble walking. She needs a lot of care, but her mind is still pretty much intact. She's got mild dementia. I only met one or two staff members. I think it's overpriced. The staff hasn't said anything about the activities. I asked about it, but the staff didn't get me any feedback on it.

My Mom is in Huntington Hills in Melville for past 8 years. The facility and staff are fantastic. Rooms are clean, staff is EXTREMELY responsive. I could not be more satisfied with the care and communication offered there.

Currently frustrated. There is no one advocating for my father. Huntington Hills fails to communicate with his family of his status. He has been there before and have found this to be a problem. Currently waiting for tests to be administered that was requested days ago.

My 94 year old grandma is a resident at Huntington Hills Center for Health & Rehab in Melville NY. I just heard that these disgusting people at Huntington Hills put my grandmother into a room with another patient that they knew tested positive for COVID-19. Their rationale was that they have limited capacity... I'm beyond upset and disgusted. How can a human being do that to another person?!? How greedy can these places be? Would they do this to their own grandmother?

My mom moved into Huntington Hills Center, and it's OK. They have Bingo and movie nights, they serve three meals a day, but I'm not thrilled with the staff. I think they need to slow down with the old people. They're going too fast, they're too hurried, and it makes the older people more nervous. They need to be slower, take their time, and be nicer with the older people.

The staff at Huntington Hills was lovely. My father had come in there right off a stroke, so they had to teach him how to eat again. His food was pureed. They're dealing with people in really bad shape, so they had little activities for them, but they tried to engage them. If they didn't engage, they at least set them in a room around other people that were engaged.

The staff was very responsive and pleasant at Huntington Hills. When you brought a situation to their attention, they followed up on it. They seemed to be interacting in a positive manner with the residents, but they could have done better job. They were just watching TV, reading, and getting oriented with the date or the weather with the residents; very simple stuff. The rooms were well furnished and in good condition. The dining area was very clean and seemed to be well-designed for seniors. Huntington Hills was very well-kept.
