I am a resident at Holly House for over 8years and I love being there. The staff are very caring, friendly and always helpful. It's in a nice suburban area. The residents are also very nice and friendly. We have games, TV and some people go to the Senior center for activities or go for a walk if they can.

I toured Holly House. It didn't seem like there was much staff there in terms of help or assistance for the elderly and it's pretty small. It just seemed like there was only one person there. The person was nice enough, but it seemed like there was no additional information that she could assist me with in terms of help for the patient. I've seen the lighting in the facility and it was dark.

As soon as I got to Holly House, I was turned off because the outside grounds had not been kept or taken care of the whole year. Everything was overgrown, and it looked dirty. And I said, if this is the way they present themselves to the outside, I can imagine what the care looks like inside. And once I got inside, it didn't smell good. I even suggested to the woman that she open the windows because it didn't smell good at all, and she told me she couldn't because of the AC. But the smell for people coming to visit and me even looking to put my loved one there was just so unsanitary. It did not appeal to me to put a loved one there. I spoke to the owner, and when I asked her if my friend could go walking, she said he could walk down there by the cemetery. I took that walk, and it led right to the cemetery, and it was the most depressing thing I ever saw. You tell seniors to walk out of the building, and go down the trail to the cemetery to look at dead gravesites? It was horrible. They only had one room available, and my loved one had to share that with an Asian woman, but that couldn't happen because my loved one was a male, and that bothered me. I wish they would have told me that, so I wouldn't waste my time going there. I was not impressed with the facility.

I toured Holly House. The staff was very friendly. But we didn't like the fact that the room itself, didn't have any type of emergency in case a patient fell. My friend had to use his cell phone to contact the staff, which I didn't personally like, and neither did he. The staff who gave the tour was very friendly and very knowledgeable though. Overall, the place was pretty clean, a little outdated, but it was okay. We were given a tour of the dining area. The staff offered us something to eat but we declined. It looked like some of the residents that were eating were enjoying what they were having.

The staff at Holly House was very nice, but I didn't think the facilities were adequate for the care that my mother required. The facilities were aged. Their room and bathroom didn't have any pullstrings to call the nursing staff when needed. And then, it was all old tile floor and just very dated. The staff was very kind and very friendly.

Holly House was a really nice place, but that's not where my father would live. It's too far from relatives. The staff was wonderful, 100 percent fantastic. I saw the kitchen and where everybody walks around and mingles and it looked great.

I have a relative living there that was brought across country from the State of Washington to be closer to his relatives. It seems that many of these other small places don't cook as much as Holly House. Their pantry is always full with canned goods, cake, cookies, cereal along with their 3 fridges full of meat. When people get older their important issue is fresh food since I saw the difference in other types of places like Holly House. The interaction here is real caring like part of the family. You cant judge a book by its cover, since the outside might not be as nice as other places but the 24/7 caring is worth the experience. Senor center pickup supplies the activities whomever wants to attend.

I went to Holly House. It's very rundown. The outside yard area was not neat and clean. It just needed a lot of TLC. The people were very nice, and the residents all looked happy, but the building itself was just very rundown. They had just one big area room, like a TV room, but I don't know of any activities. The staff were very friendly.

My husband is in Holly House. We chose it because it was close to our home and it was affordable. I like that it's small. It only has 14 residents. The residents are very friendly. The staff is very friendly. It's easy to just drop in and visit. It feels like a welcoming place. He's only been there for a week, and so far, no problems. It is a boarding home, and they're providing lodging and meals. If he needed medication, they would help him, but he doesn't need medication. He's basically not requiring a lot of assistance right now. Everyone we've been in contact with so far has been very helpful and very easy to work with. He's very happy with the food. They don't have activities at this particular facility, but they have access to a senior center. They provide bed and furniture. The bathroom is equipped for safety. Everything is safe. We're very relieved to find a place we could afford.

The tour experience at Holly House was fine, but the facility was very dated, and you have to be very mobile. The staff was very kind. The rooms were dated. The facility was clean. Once a week, the church comes over. There is no assistance there. There are meals, but that's it.

My sister lived there for more than 4 years. She has a private room and friendly residents. The staffs are alaways quick responsive and provide excellent services and treat her like a family. The facility even have holiday parties and local church visiting events, so the resident can enjoy the holiday atmosphere. This makes me felt safe when she lived alone. If you are looking for a friendly environment with reasonable price and filled with helpful care, holly house is the great place to choose.

Holly House was very different from the other facility. It's more rustic. It's more like a three-star facility. However, what I liked most about it was it really did seem like a home. The residents seemed happy. They seemed to get along and treat the facility like it is their home, which provided a different kind of atmosphere. The people who run it appeared kind and friendly. They really seemed to care about who lived there, because it is smaller. I met the woman who cooks for the residents three times a day, and she's very sweet. She's someone that you would probably want to invite to your own house to cook for you. It's not a fancy place, and my mother doesn't feel comfortable in a very fancy place. I actually visited this place twice with my brother the second time, because I felt like my mother would be more comfortable there. The dining room was comfortable. It's not huge where anyone will get lost. If they all eat together it probably feels like a family eating together, which I thought was nice. I saw shared rooms, so it almost looked like a dormitory. They do their laundry for them, and they have people clean for them. However, the rest is pretty independent, which was perfect. If you have someone who's still kind of independent, but just needs to be paid attention to 24 hours a day, so that's a nice option. They assist with cooking, they assist with cleaning, and they assist with laundry. It's in a really nice residential area. They have a bus that comes and picks them up and takes them to the senior center, which is literally just a couple of minutes away. There are lots of stores not far. What I liked about that, too, was it's closer to civilization than the other place. This facility is in a community and the residents feel like they're part of a community, as opposed to being part of an assisted living facility. There's a difference there, I believe.

Holly House was the first one we visited. The tour was great. The building itself seemed to be nice, quiet, and clean. It was a nice atmosphere. We saw a two-person room, which was nice. We loved the fact that there was a bathroom in the room. The person giving the tour was very knowledgeable and very helpful. Overall, it was a great experience. Based on what I observed, the residents seem to be doing fine. It's just a matter of what we're looking for. I think it is a great place. It's small and not crowded. I'm sure there's a degree of individual attention given, and that's great.

The staff has been very helpful to a relative of mine for nearly two years. If you are looking for a friendly environment, one that is cost efficient, filled with helpful care (and that is nestled in a very cute town) you have the best option in the central NJ area.

This is a beautiful quaint setting located in Central New Jersey. My father has been living in Holly House for over a year and really feels happy there. This makes me felt safe and comforting knowing he originally did not want to leave his home where he lived alone. The staff is very caring and goes out of their way to help. I am happy knowing that my dad is in good place that cares for him and make him feel at home.

I toured Holly House Hightstown. The appearance was fine. The room seemed to be well-kept. It was neat, there was a place for the residents to sit. I think they were watching TV when I was there. They had a small cafeteria type of room. I guess it wasn't a formal dining room per se, but it was certainly a place where the residents would have meals and stuff. The lady was very nice, she explained the program and what was available. She did suggest that if I was interested, I speak to the supervisor as opposed to her. She wasn't the actual person who ran the program. It's a small facility. The residents that were there were watching television or in their room doing something. One lady was, I think she was doing needlework.

Holly House had an open, decent size common area and enough parking spots. It wasn't as expensive as some of the other assisted living facilities. For a lower income or a cheaper place, this looked pretty nice. The people were friendly and they all seemed very happy there. They were on top of what they needed to do. The lady who gave me the tour was friendly and kind, even though she was busy. They had some woods around them and a nice open yard. Then they have transportation, which is big for my uncle as he needs help in getting around.

Holly House was very nice and clean. Everybody was nice, even the residents. That would have been a good place, but it wasn't designed for my brother because everybody there is more high-functional. It was a nice place. I saw a shared room and a single room, and they were very nice and clean. It was just a very nice little small community for assisted living.

We toured Holly House Senior Residence for my sister. It was clean. Everyone was friendly and informative. The staff were helpful and friendly. The place could use some updating, but it was clean. It is a nice neighborhood. The rooms that we were able to see looked adequate.

Holly House Senior Residence was absolutely disgusting, I wouldn't put a convict in that place. The place was dirty and dark, they didn't even know that I was coming. The residents looked happy. The whole place needed to be repaired, you walk around and see that it needs to be painted and needed new flooring. They showed me a resident's room and it was disgustingly dirty. I didn't see anything positive there. The person who showed me around showed up to the door looking like he had his pajamas on.

This facility is more than the walls that surround it; it served as a home and extended family for my mom who lived there for 7+ years. It is family owned and run which makes it feel more like a home than a facility. I'll share the sentiment we shared with the owners when we recently relocated my mom, "Thank you from all of us who have been welcomed through your open doors and hearts. Thank you for the warm welcome, wonderful home, and helpful hands. We are most appreciative of all that you do!"

I would not put my mother in Holly House Senior Residence. It's assisted living, with about 7 or 8 residents only. And it honestly looked like they haven't updated the place in decades, so I was kind of surprised by that. It's not that it was a bad place, the people were wonderful and everything, it just wasn't for me. They should seriously hire a decorator and update the place a little bit. Then I wouldn't be walking in to be shocked and say "Oh my God, no". And that's a big deal, so if they want a good review, they need a good decorator and a good painting. So that would really be wonderful and would help them so much. But the people there were so nice. A handicapped man opened the door for me and walked me down the aisle to the person that was in charge. They knew I was coming and they showed me around. The strange thing was they're showing me around but we're almost standing in the same place, you can see the entire building just standing in the hallway, because it's not large at all. And everybody seemed really happy which is a lot to me. One of the residents showed me her room and she was so nice, she was like "I love being here".

The room sizes are large all rooms have bathroom. The food is excellent. The neighborhood is very quiet. There are nearby shopping areas and places to eat. The staff are very helpful and they always go above and beyond for there residents.

Holly House is in a quiet suburban neighborhood. It is a single-story place with about 12 to 15 residents. It definitely has a homey atmosphere in the main living room area, which has a TV and multiple couches. There are books throughout too. The rooms are relatively small, and the twin beds seem small. However, the kitchen area is large. The residents, from what I saw, come and go as they please. It is in a quiet suburban neighborhood.
