Fox Den Retirement Community

My mother was at Fox Den Retirement Community. It was very nice, warm, and family-ish. We just weren't getting the level of care that she needed at that time. It's not for people that need more advanced care. They don't have memory care, but it was good for what she needed. The staff was lovely. Everyone was very nice. The food was good. She had a suite, a living room/kitchen area, a bedroom, big walk-in closet, and her own private bathroom. It was large and bright with big windows. The place was very clean and very nice, and the building was always being renovated. They had several new rooms put in since we started there.

We chose Fox Den because it was affordable, the people were very helpful with the tour, and it seemed like a pleasant place. She has a kitchen, living room, bedroom, and bathroom, and there's a common dining room with tables and chairs, and a common meeting place. It had pretty grounds and good surroundings.

What I like about Fox Den is the price. It’s almost $3,000 a month, and everything is included. They offer bus rides for the residents. I'm happy with the place, and they are taking good care of my mom.

My parents moved to Fox Den two weeks ago. They’re still adjusting to the move, so they’re going to selected activities. It’s a small community, but the staff is very friendly and welcoming.

Fox Den is wonderful. My mother loves it there. She gives us pictures and feedback monthly. They have activities that she's involved in. She loves that every day there's something new going on. She's very, very pleased and we're very pleased. The facilities are exceptional.

Upon driving up, I was astounded by the beautiful setting of Fox Den. It's on acerage--the owners live upstairs in the facility, also. There is a pond with a fountain that can be viewed from the front porch. The facility looks very homey on the outside. On the inside, the decor felt "dated" and dark to me and both the private rooms and efficiency apartments seemed small. The dining room was spacious, though, and as I was there at lunchtime the residents looked happy during mealtime. The staff was also very friendly and helpful during my visit, and the owner took time to say hello and explain the facilitie's amenities.
