"The facility was basic, but patient needs were well provided for. It had a very homey feeling to it; it felt very warm and comfortable. The residents were all very polite and friendly. There were lots of activities to participate in and most of the residents spend as much time as they can with others. I am not sure about what types of rooms are available, but the one I visited many times was a medium sized room with 2 residents. It was plenty of room for them and they were in great condition. The facility is located in the country, away from traffic, noise, and all the hustle and bustle. It was always nice to be able to spend some time outside on the deck, enjoying the peace and quiet and visiting. Still, it's only about 15 minutes away from Rolla, MO, which has just about everything a resident would want or need. Overall, I would say that this is a very nice facility. Pay them a visit and see what you think! "

"I went to Parkside Senior Living two months ago. I thought the facility was nice, and the people were great too. I had a very positive impression of it. I saw things like a private dining room, as a kind of an on-demand restaurant-style area where people could order exactly what they wanted. I chatted with one or two residents. It was a positive experience. However, we liked the location of the other place, and it was close to a $1000 difference, so Parkside was a little bit more expensive. I think the activities were better, they had several field trips, I guess they go on field trips at least weekly. So I thought that was great. I met their chef, but we did not get to try anything. They had raised gardens for the residents."

"Mom has dementia. We have a large family and it has been hard on us all. There is a lot of guilt in having to place your mom in a facility. A lot of worry and sadness. We are fortunate that mom is for the most part "happy". She smiles a lot and still likes to show off a few dance moves if the mood strikes her. We recently moved mom from another skilled nursing facility to Frene Valley Owensville as they have a memory care hall. Mom has adjusted so well to the move. As soon as we arrived the staff greeted us and started tending to mom right away. Paperwork was minimal it went very fast and easily understood. The facility is clean, bright and staff go above and beyond to help with anything we need or answer any questions. We (moms family) talk amongst ourselves about the good care mom gets at Frene. We go to see mom and she looks clean and well kept. We....and there are many of us, highly recommend Frene and we wish we would have moved mom sooner to the facility. There are many places within the facility to just sit with mom and visit with each other. The outside garden is so pretty and peaceful. The staff are hard workers and very loving towards mom. Mom is not much of an activities kind of girl but the staff always tries to get her involved and some of them even "dance" with her! We are very pleased with moms care! Thank you Frene Valley Owensville! We are so much more confident that mom is getting the care she needs."

"Rolla Presbyterian Manor has all three stages: independent living, assisted living, and even a nursing home section, so that part we liked. Plus, they have some flexibility and some transportation. Rolla Presbyterian Manor was good. The independent living part was probably older, but had been updated. The location was good. The cleanliness was very good too. The staff was very helpful. They were very good. In fact, they contact us regularly to see if my husband's mom needs a place."

"My dad was a resident of Aurora Health and Rehab. What I like best is the staff. The staff is amazing. Their physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy are all wonderful. The CNA and all the people who work there do a great job. I had some of their meals. My dad's room was big. I like the size of his room. It was good to maneuver around, and the bathroom was a good size. The paint, the way the room looked itself needs a little bit of remodeling. It was just not a pretty room, a little bit depressing. I think they do a great job of rehab, but it's a little bit expensive."

"Rosewood Residential Care in Rolla is quite homey. It's small, which is not a bad thing. Each of the staff is very nice, very friendly and helpful. Each of the resident rooms has a bathroom that's just a toilet and sink. You go to a different place for the shower but I think it's good that they don't have to share bathrooms. They get 3 meals a day and they all eat in the same room at the same time. I don't have anything specific to say about the dining area aside from it is adequate. My brother is receiving assisted living care there. For activities, I know occasionally they have a puzzle that anybody can help put together. They have an area that has a sort of a library with a lot of books that they could read if they choose to. In the living room area, which is communal, there is a television with couches and chairs that people can sit on if they want to. The facility is well maintained. They had a problem, at one point, with the air conditioner but they had somebody out there taking care of it right away. The shower area where the people go is currently being redone and updated and all that. They keep it clean too. They have a beauty and barbershop room, and they have a laundry facility. The laundry is done for the residents so they don't have to do their own. "

"My mom was getting good care from Golden Living Centers. With regard to the cleanliness of the place, I would say I had seen a lot worse. The staff seemed to be friendly and caring. However, there was some disagreement with my father and the staff and I was out of town at that time, so I'm not really sure what exactly happened. If I had to put her back in a nursing home, I would probably choose Golden Living. I really didn't have any complaints about this facility. "

"My mother has been living in Oak Pointe of Rolla for almost five months now. It's very nice and she's very happy there. The staff is very helpful and very courteous. Her room is filled with her own belongings and her own furniture, and that's what we wanted. They have lots of different activities. She's also able to have the physical therapy that they requested. The only thing that I know is that when I visited yesterday, she was able to have regular, nutritious meals, and they requested that. I tell them what she likes and what she doesn't like, and we're able to bring snacks of any kind that she likes. She's in the memory care. It's clean. They have a private hairdresser who comes in one day a week. We pay ahead of time and she does what we ask, which we appreciate. We're very pleased. It's safe and secure. My brother and I have been very pleased."

"Ashbury Heights of Jefferson City looked nice from the outside, with pretty flower beds and shrubbery. We were in the region, looking at places for our uncle to live. The main interior opened to a lovely receiving area, reminiscent of an old country home. The studio suites were a nice size and looked beautiful. We thought our uncle might prefer a combo suite, but the studios were larger than we thought they'd be. The larger suites featured a living room area that was large enough to have a few dinner guests. The one bedroom suites were lovely, too. Each unit has individual temperature controls and came furnished or unfurnished. The kitchenettes had ample appliances and counter space. We really liked the ceiling fans and closet space. Outings scheduled included just about anything imaginable, from library, local films and crafts, to theater and fine dining. They also schedule monthly birthday parties and other special events for friends and family to enjoy. The dining area had many delicious sounding options. We sampled some snacks which were better than average, each appearing home-cooked and fresh. They had beauty and barber shops and a spa program. We also really liked the regular move-in specials the facility offers "“ which will help financially. Ashbury Heights was a really nice facility that we are definitely considering for our uncle. "

"My mother has been in StoneBridge on Adams Street for rehab for more than a month now. The people that work there seem very caring. Mom seemed to be very satisfied there with the care that she's gotten. Although the place is older, they make up for the appearance by the people that work there because they're very caring. They take good care of her. She likes the food there. The furniture and things like that seem to be old and could use updating. The restrooms in the residents' rooms could also be updated because you can barely fit a wheelchair in there. It makes it difficult for them to maneuver. Helping a person get from like the wheelchair to the toilet is difficult because there's not any room. The one thing I would say about this place is you shouldn't judge a book by its cover because when I walked in the first day, I was not very happy. We were placed there because of the social worker. There didn't seem to be many places available at that time because of COVID, but the people there more than make up for what it looks like."

"My Aunt Ann was a resident here before she passed on, but I visited with her many times during the years she was there. When she got there she was a smoker and it was allowed in restricted areas but they ended up giving her the help she needed to quit for good. The staff are very helpful, friendly and provide service with a smile. There were always choices when it came to the buffet style dining which included many different, delectable menu options or you could have something else made personally for you. Family members and other visitors were always welcome to join their loved one for meals. There are beautifully done outside courtyards to visit in during good weather, a large television room with a big screen and Nintendo WII for exercise and enjoyment. The television room also has big, comfortable chairs with tables and lamps for reading and relaxing. This facility also boasts an onsite hair and nails salon. "

"My father is actually in the rehabilitation wing at Jefferson City Manor because he fractured his back when he fell out. The facility is excellent. They're very well kept with their grounds. Their building is clean. They actually are a smaller place and all on one level. They're 100 percent hands on at this point with him. They have rehabilitation. The staff is excellent. They have to move him from the bed to the chair, to the wheelchair, to the bathroom, or the showers. They change his clothes daily. The food is well-balanced and good. They had a DJ come in the other day, and he participated in that. They do have all kinds of activities. They have something daily, and they do post what activities they have going on. His room is smaller. He has a bed or recliner, a couple of chairs, and a table. The closets are big and ample for storing his clothes."
