Birchwood Cottages - North Mankato

My mother is going to move into Birchwood Cottages - North Mankato. They have small rooms. They have a separate room for a shower and a bathtub, so they have to pick the day that they're going to use it. It has a stool and the sink in her room, and then it's a small room. Then they have a living room, dining room, and everything kind of conjoined in a sharing area. But they have her room looking over wooded ravines and the view is very nice. I wish she had her own individual shower, but she doesn't, and the rooms are pretty darn small. The residents there are of the same kind of upbringing that my mom had, so I think after she's there for a week, she'll be fine. She's excited, she doesn't have to cook for herself anymore. What I also like about Birchwood is that they include the residents if they want, to fold clothes or help out with little things to make them feel more at home or helpful. I think that's great. The facility is only four years old. It is smaller and has not as many residents. I think they have 32 residents there, so they get the attention they need individually.
