"The meadows assisted living is the cleanest place we have visisted. The rooms and nice and spacious and the staff was very supportive. We love how the staff truly cares for each resident. Our family definately recommends The Medows of Mt. Clemens. "

"They had people sharing rooms, like two people in a room. It was a three story building, they had an elevator going up and two floors had the patients' rooms and a nurses' station. The top floor was like a recreational room where you can play cards. You could talk to the residents there and they seem to be enjoying games. The patients are enjoying each other's company. The staff there were very, very nice. They had a church service going on when I was there and it seemed like there's a nice community feeling. If there's something that a potential resident likes to do, they make sure they would have activities in their interest. They seem like they're really engaging the people and getting them involved in things. I would recommend this to others. "

"The Bickford of Shelby Township is a beautiful facility. It has a friendly staff, lots of activities for the seniors, it's very clean and just gorgeous. The only drawback is that it's very expensive. It was their memory care that I toured. The staff was friendly, they were happy, it seemed, to work there, and they interacted with the residents when we were walking around. They even interacted with my mom, who was with us looking. It's just a different atmosphere from the other memory care facilities I've looked at, for sure. I would highly recommend it to anyone. It's just that it was out of the budget we were looking to spend. They said they would encourage people to participate or come out of the rooms if things wandered off. They had lots of areas set up even in the facility itself, between the hallways, for residents to mingle in smaller groups instead of being in a large group so that was kind of nice. The rooms were set up almost like little apartments. I recall they had little mailboxes where the residents would get mail and stuff and I thought that was a nice touch too. It's a very good location, it was right next door to a Catholic church. They offered transportation to residents to take them on field trips and appointments and that kind of thing. It was close to a few of the malls, close to the hospital, and close to shopping."

"I toured Oaktree Place. I was going to give them a deposit check, but then they decided my friend needed too much care for 1 or 2 people who would be there full-time. It's a house. It has four bedrooms. They have two people and most of the bedrooms would have been a single bedroom. They had big sofa chairs to watch the big screen TV. If they wanted, they could sit at the dining table. She would make the food for them. The one lady who made all the food and took care of their nursing issues. With other residents they had, my friend, would have put her over the limit of care."

"The apartments are very nice, spacious. The buildings cleanliness is deserves a rating of 5 stars. The balcony is small ,but great for small number of plants. The manager Jean was easy to talk too and very polite, very informative about the senior apartment facility; as well as the receptionist was very friendly and courteous. I will continue to look for apartment that is one unit or private entrance ; The high rise apartment I feel it not the type of apartment I need at this point in my life. THANK YOU"

"The things I like best about Villa Bella of Clinton Township are the size of the rooms and the cost, which is important to me. The VA is going to pay for a big part of the cost, but I still have to pay for some of it. They also have three meals a day. I enjoyed the meal that I had there, it was good. The staff members I met during the visit were nice and friendly. They were patient when I had a hard time walking."

"I like Brookdale Utica. The staff was very friendly and professional. It's very clean and well organized. As soon as I walked in, I had a sense of a very welcoming environment versus some other facilities that I visited. That's why I selected Brookdale. I toured assisted living, but Brookdale provides both assisted living and memory care. They have a list of activities weekly. It could be anything from an ice cream social. I think next week, Tuesday, they were going on an outing of some sort, but I noticed they have a calendar with regular events. They also have a menu, so they have a selection that they can have for their breakfast, lunch, and dinner. What I like about it, too, is they provide all the services, all the meals, the prescription management, they clean the apartment every week, they provide their towels, and they do all their laundry. From a perspective of that as a daughter, that's nice to know that they provide all those services because I'm still working full time and I have my own home and family. It's nice to know that's all being taken care of for my mother. I've been working with the sales and marketing director since day 1, and she does a phenomenal job. Their menu is very diverse and it looks good, but she hasn't lived there yet, so I don't have any feedback from her on that. I liked that it's a smaller senior community. The assisted living is in one building and memory care is in a separate building just adjacent to it, which I think is a good idea. What I like about it, from the assisted living standpoint, is it's only two floors and it had a simple layout. What I've noticed with some of the other facilities that I visited, sometimes too much busyness and too much activity and loudness are not good for patients who have dementia and Alzheimer's. I think this caters to a more intimate type of environment where I think residents and staff can get to know each other more easily and I like that environment. What I like about it, too, is I've already had a nurse from Brookdale assess my mom and I was there during the assessment, so it helped Brookdale to make sure that I'm selecting the best level of care based upon a medical review of my mom and where she's at mentally and I thought that was nice."

"My father-in-law is a resident of The Pines Senior Living. The place has a studio, is spacious, and has an administrator who can get things going and make things happen. The food is okay, and the place is pretty clean. The size of his room might be around 900 square feet. He has a small kitchen, a living room, a bedroom, and a decent-sized bathroom. The dining area is spacious."
