Memory Care Communities in Beaumont, CA

"I've been in Hacienda Senior Living Assisted Living & Memory Care a little over a year. I'm in assisted living. I take care of myself. They just give me my medication, feed me, and shower me, and that's it. It's very good. I love it here. It's not like some of the other ones that are real big. This is smaller and you get more care. I have my own room. They have a fountain outside the grounds and they have fruit trees here. They take good care of you. They're really nice. I really like them all. It's excellent food. They give you so much food. We don't have a lot of activities. They're in the process of hiring somebody to come in here and do activities with us. There's another section where people need more help, have Alzheimer's, and stuff like that. The people where I'm at can take care of themselves, and there are only about five of us in this area. Value for money is OK."

"It was clean and organized. I like the setup inside. But what was a drawback was where my mother was going to stay; she would be outside, in like a studio apartment. And she had to leave there to go in, and I said, "No, that's not going to work for her." That was the number one drawback. The staff member who gave the tour was very nice and thorough. Even though it wasn't a fit for my mother, it was still a good facility. I liked that they had trips for the seniors there. Everything was okay. The dining room was very nice. I liked the decor. Everything was well-lit. The lighting was perfect. They have a little area set up if they want to sit outside."

"We went to see the Summerfield of Redlands and toured their memory care. The place is very nice, friendly, clean, and with competent personnel. The rooms are also clean, well-organized, and well-equipped but with plenty of room to add the resident's personality."

"My mother moved to Brightwater Senior Living of Highland's memory care unit. I remember seeing this one woman come out and, even being wheeled out of one of the bedrooms, she had a full face of makeup, her hair was done, and she was dressed nicely. They were smiling and laughing, too. I just love the friendliness of the place. It seemed like they just knew and genuinely cared about the individuals, even the non-verbal ones and those making a mess or soiling themselves. No one had a bad attitude and nobody acted like they didn't want to do their job. They were all there with a smile on their faces and the patients looked happy and cared for. Any question I had for them, they answered it immediately and if they didn't have the answer, they found it out. The food is nice. The only thing about it that I did notice is it's not seasoned, but I know that they probably can't put salt on a lot of the patient's food. There are two separate eating areas for memory care and assisted or senior living people. The senior living looks like a hotel, it's beautiful. My mom says memory care's eating area is like a cafeteria. I've tried to feed my mom and she's not thrilled with the food. They had a petting zoo. They brought in a bunch of animals so the residents could see the animals they had. They play bingo every day. They try to keep them active. They don't want the patients in their room all the time so they are constantly doing something. They have a movie theater there. I'll take my mom to the movie theater and see a movie during my visits. They've got a lot of activities. You just have to go to them. The lady who runs the memory care is outstanding. She answers every question and goes above and beyond. She even comes in on her days off to just follow up. She works very hard, and I'm thrilled with her. Everybody there is outstanding. I haven't found one individual that pissed me off. My mom has fallen twice since she's been there and there was never a thought in my mind that it was because no one was caring for her. It's just a good place and the best one that I found. It is expensive, but it's worth every penny. I think the care that you're receiving is far beyond the money you're spending."

"I visited Pico De Loro. Everything was very nice. I had a lot of resources but the cost was too much. They showed everything, the rooms, the bedding, and the dining areas. I sampled the meal and the food was good. The facility was great. It's very clean. They had very nice and good quality programs for them. The staff was helpful and easygoing."

"I toured Chardonnay Hills Care Home. It's a house with wide aisles, which was great for wheelchairs. The kitchen and the living room were spacious. The floors were wood, so there weren't any smells."

"Westmont of Riverside is a beautiful community surrounded by 55-plus housing, so it's a very normal neighborhood-like environment that you drive through to get to their facility. It had a nice little fountain in the front, lots of parking, and it was beautiful and quite lovely. We were late, we called them first, and they were very gracious about it. The lady who helped us was very professional. She was a little off-putting at first, but I think that's because we were so late and we were probably interrupting her schedule, but she got over it quickly enough. She was very pleasant and certainly knew what she was talking about. They had a lot of things for people to do. They have a lovely library that is huge. We also went by what she called an art room. It was dark, no one was in there at the time, so I don't know exactly what they had in there, but she said that is where they have painting and stuff. They also had a sort of thing like when you're in old high school and there are recesses in the wall with glass where awards go. They had those types of things, and they had celebratory seasonal things displayed there. It stands out because nobody else did it. They had what looked like a giant activities room where they played Bingo. She said they also had various things that went on there at that particular time; they were doing bingo. One standout thing there, and I can only give the very basics of it, is that they had an on-site doctor. You don't have to use the doctor, but in probably all the old people's cases, they're all going to have doctors, and if you move a distance, which my sister would be, she's going to have to find another doctor within her group. While she's looking for a doctor, they have an on-site doctor, so she could sign up with them. It doesn't have to, though; they were clear about that. Most of the things that these old people are going to have going wrong with them are colds and flu, and they need shots and basic stuff that a GP is efficient for. It's really convenient to be able to book a doctor right there on-site. You can also get your pharmacy needs there, which is also nice. You don't have to, it's clear, but you could. They also had transport there, where if your doctor was off-site and you booked an appointment, you could book transport with them to get to the appointment."

"My Brother was a resident at Hillsong for over a year until he passed away. Hillsong works with any Hospice service the family chooses. Owner and staff were knowledgeable, caring, sensitive and accommodating to his needs; very communicative with family members and always available. Environment is safe, clean and quiet. Residents and family are treated respectfully. I highly recommend this care facility. "

"I went to Sun City Gardens. They all seemed very friendly and happy. The individual who gave the tour was walking around talking to everybody. It was apparent that they were very close. He was very nice and very friendly. It was very clean and very well designed. They had nice gardens. The room size was good. It wasn't too small and it had a nice open layout where wheelchairs would have been able to fit and go in and out of the room."

"My friend will move into WellQuest of Menifee Lakes. The staff was very caring, and it's a nice place to live. It was also affordable and convenient, as it's close to where I live. The food there was excellent."

"Rooms are always kept clean, bedding is new every week. Rooms are always tidy and clean. Smells fresh and clean all the time. Food is always fresh. Prepared each day. Caregiver always gives updates and calls when needed. Easy to talk with her and always have a clear communication line with her. House is well maintained and cleaned at all times. Residents are given meals with snacks, even late night snacks if requested. Visitation is open 7 days a week all hours."

"Sunrise at Canyon Crest was very pleasant. The rooms were very nice. They have a cottage style where there are a few rooms around the central dining room. That was a very, very nice arrangement. They have a lot of activities that occur, not necessarily daily, but they have activities where they get the residents together to do crafts and they have a bus where they take them out to go on a drive or some of the people, if they want to get out, they go to a shopping center. We had food there and it was good. There was a menu and you could choose. The facility was excellent"
