I visited this facility

Bridges by EPOCH at Mashpee is a memory care facility. It was beautiful, but also very, very expensive. Everybody was great. They're all trained to handle memory care residents. The rooms were nice, but my aunt needed someone to be with her and they only had singles. They were nice, but it wasn't going to meet her needs. The facility was brand new, so everything was clean and pretty. They all had little villages that they lived in and a lot of activities going on. They had a beautiful outdoor area, a bunch of function rooms where some lady was playing piano for them, a screening room, and all sorts of medical staff. It was top-of-the-line.

I visited this facility

I toured Bridges by EPOCH at Mashpee. It looked comfortable, it looked like an interesting place, and I have no negative comments. The staff member was overly helpful, knew everything, and was very open and proactive. I took a tour of all the facility has to offer, including the accommodations and public areas. They have a community room.

I visited this facility

Bridges by EPOCH at Mashpee was very nice. All of the rooms seemed to be single rooms, which was unusual. They only take memory-impaired/Alzheimer's people. I've gone there several times for caregivers meetings, and my wife gets a meal while I'm there. I've been really pleased. The food was good. The staff was very friendly and very nice. I was impressed with them.

Provider Response

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My aunt was at Bridges for like three weeks, and she is not there anymore. We changed our mind about it because we didn’t like it. I didn’t like it because the rooms were small, and then the common area was just one big area. It was like you walk out of your room, and there was the dining area, the TV area, and the kitchen area; so it was one big area. It wasn’t very homelike, and I didn’t like it. It looked very nice, but if I had to stay there myself, I wouldn’t like it because it was boring. You walk out the door from your room, and there was this big area where you spend your entire day, so I did not like it. They were very expensive, way out of range.

Provider Response

We appreciate you taking the time to review us, and we're sorry to hear your family's experience at Mashpee was less than satisfactory. Bridges by EPOCH communities are specially designed for the unique needs of individuals living with memory impairment. The layout of each memory care household is based around a central living area with familiar faces and no long hallways to navigate, creating a sense of home for our residents that reduces stress and confusion. Many residents, family members and visitors have commented that they find our apartments spacious. We take great pride in the comprehensive care we provide to our residents, which includes activities shown to improve engagement and cognition while minimizing agitation in people with memory loss. If there were any issues beyond concerns with building design, we hope you informed our staff—it's always our goal to provide each resident with the best possible experience. If you have any additional feedback, please call us.

I visited this facility

The top of the line around here is called the Bridges by Epoch. It is just memory care, but it is really the top-of-the-line in their programs. All of the other places said this was the best place around, but it is the most expensive by far. It was almost brand new and had really high-end finishes and everything. They had a list of things that they do, and it was really all keyed to memory care. The whole program there has been designed by doctors that are specialists in memory care, and the whole place is built around memory care. People, even at the other places, said that it was the best place around here, but it is very expensive.

Provider Response

We appreciate you taking the time to review Bridges by EPOCH at Mashpee. We pride ourselves in having a beautiful, well-kept community, but the exceptional care and lifestyle we offer our residents has always been our first priority. Unlike other memory care communities that offer a base price and charge extra for basic amenities and services, our pricing is all-inclusive, which means we offer an outstanding value. Where many memory care communities are wings of a traditional assisted living community, Bridges by EPOCH communities are designed exclusively to meet the unique needs of individuals living with memory impairment. This includes specially-designed activities, programming and building features, as well as specially-trained staff. We encourage you to visit us again for another chance to meet our team and explore the unique lifestyle we offer.

My mother-in-law just passed away at Bridges. She was so well cared for by every employee! She was so happy and secure there. She was a night owl and the staff would bring her to sit with them. They would have ice cream parties! Thank you to all those wonderful people.

I am a friend or relative of resident

My Dad was transferred to Bridges in a very short time with assistance from Place for Mom after an accident almost causing his early retirement at 90. Bridges Staff is better than 5 stars. They should be regarded as a model for what should exist in specialized alzheimer's and dementia care. Gourmet dining from Patty and commitment, compassion, dedication and caring from all staff. The respect, for not only residents, but family members and guests is way ahead of the pack. Take a look at - Bravissimo !!

I am a friend or relative of resident

My mother was one of the first residents to move into the Mashpee community when it opened in July, 2015. It was an incredibly smooth transition for Mom as she quickly eased into her new home. The facility and the programs far exceed all of the memory care communities I visited on Cape Cod and the South Shore of Boston. The building and the grounds are beautiful and designed in a fashion that makes each resident feel safe and at home. The programs are innovative, varied and catered to meet the each resident's interests and needs. What is most impressive is the quality of the staff. Every staff member I've interacted with (which have been the majority of them) are dedicated and highly professional. Most importantly, they are compassionate, loving and will go the extra mile for their residents. For example, Mom was anxious and confused after a multi-day stay at a hospital. They made arrangements for one of the housekeepers who speaks both English and Spanish to greet Mom in her room upon her return from the hospital. They knew that Mom had a special bond with the housekeeper and that Mom found comfort when speaking Spanish (her first language) with her. Seeing the housekeeper's loving face upon her arrival immediately put Mom at ease and reminded her that she had returned home. This is just one of many stories I can share of staff genuinely caring for Mom and by extension, her family. The one price model (as opposed to different rates based on the level of care required) makes it very easy to manage finances. At the end of the day, Mom is the happiest she's been in years. She is loved, cared for, respected and celebrated at Bridges by EPOCH. We're so blessed for her to be a member of the Bridges family!
