I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
When we relocated to the area three years ago we also moved my mother from another facility to the Life Care Center of the North Shore. It was recommended to us by an acquaintance whose aunt had been at the facility for several years. The staff was wonderful, and we feel she got more personal attention and better care than where she was before. The facility is small and lovely. It was very clean - never any odors. Mom enjoyed breakfast in the dining room, prepared by Barbara, who was very kind and knew just what mom liked to have each morning. The activity department has a variety of programs she enjoyed, especially Tony who has a beautiful singing voice and a wonderful smile for everyone. Best of all was the courtyard in the summer months, with a lovely fountain and Coi fish pond built by Jarod in the maintenance department, where mom loved to sit and visit. Kaylee the receptionist was always very welcoming and efficient. Carla the director has an open door policy and would always be available to discuss any concerns. Lauren in accounting took care of everything related to payments for us and made out life easier. Every employee seemed to want to do their best to make residents feel safe, cared for, and valued. I would highly recommend this facility.

When looking at a care facility for my mother I looked for longevity in staffing, were the residents clean and dressed, what activities are available, how are personal needs are met and how approachable are the staff. My experience has been positive with all these things,my concerns are met with compassion and addressed in a timely manor. My mother is not always the easiest of patrons and the staff is compassionate and honest about her assessment and care. I feel very confident that Life Care is the right choice for our family needs.

My Mom was at Life Care Center of the North Shore for 2 1/2 years. My Mom entered Life Care Center at the age of 96. Before arriving there Mom was being treated for the flu at a hospital for 8 days. I needed to find a facility that had an open bed for her. Fortunately, Life Care Center had one available for Mom to begin Rehab., I expected after her Rehab stay Mom would be able to return home, but her condition could not warranted it. The Social Worker and I discussed my options concerning Mom. The Social Worker recommended to take an open bed on Floor 2 without hesitation. I was quite nervous and unsure about that situation. However, it turned out to be the correct decision having Mom remain at the facility. The Staff was so good and accommodating with Mom and reassuring me that Mom would be alright. If Mom was able to come home, it would have been very difficult for me. Mom adjusted to her new situation. She had a nice room near the nurse's station and staff workers. Mom's roommate was a terrific person knowing how I really cared and loved my Mother. Mom's dementia gradually took control of her. The Unit Director, nurses, and staff were so caring and understanding throughout the entire process. Other personnel were very kind and considerate. I was with Mom every day twice a day making sure she was fine and comfortable.. It was difficult when the time occurred knowing that I would not be there anymore with Mom. Once I had to return and everyone was so wonderful and concern about me. Many thanks to Care Dimensions and Life Care Center for there kindness and caring treatment to Mom and there concern toward me during those difficult moments. Another note of interest regarding the facility. . Clothing was washed daily and returned to the client. Activities were available and staff really work diligently to engage all clients. Meals were geared to the clients diet. Maintenance performed an outstanding job making sure the facility is operating efficiently and cleaned. The administration is knowledgeable and will work with the client and family situation. I do recommend Life Care Center of the North Shore, and if necessary, Care Dimensions as well.

My wife has been at Life Care Center of the North Shore for a year. I’m about a mile away from her right now, so it’s convenient and has good service there. I think the staff and caregivers are very good. She’s in a two-bedroom with a TV. They get aides that are responsible for their areas and have a nurse on the floor. They bring the food up to the patients on a tray. If they want, they have another dining area on the first floor. I would say they do their best.

My mom stayed here for rehab after having surgery. I have to say the place is secured, doors are always locked and you will need to be buzzed in and out and visitors need to sign in and out. Everyday they have different types of activities for the patients as well as someone comes and does they nails and hair. If the weather is nice you can sit outside in an enclosed patio which is very nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Those are the pros. Now the cons: when you pull the light for assistance it takes them a very long time to respond which is not a good thing if a person is in a desperate need to use the bathroom. When you ask for pain meds sometimes they forget and you have to keep asking. Lastly, on a few occasions I noticed that when they remove their globes after finishing with a patient, if they miss the trash they just leave it on the floor as well as food, etc it stays there until housekeeping gets around to cleaning it
If they would improve the amount of time it takes them to respond when called I would definitely give them 5 stars.

I would not recommend this facility at all. Some of the nurses can't be bothered to follow the doctors orders caring for the patients. Why do you wait for 15-20 min for a bedpan? There should be enough qualified, pleasant staff to care for the patients. I could go on and on and I will.

This place is just wonderful. My grandfather was in hospice care here and the employees were very professional, courteous and kind. They seemed to make him comfortable at such a difficult time for everyone. At one point there was about 30 family members in his room/hallway and they were always very polite, caring and accommodating with our requests.

Life Care center of the Northshore is a nursing home located on Birch Street in Lynn, MA. I don't work for Life Care Center. I am a homecare RN that has visited the nursing home several times. The nursing home is spacious and clean. The building is well secured. Visitors are required to sign in and out. Balanced meals are served regularly. Staff is available to assist residents with personal care and recreational activities. Nurses are available 24 hours to monitor residents' health. Life care center is 10 minutes away from Union Hospital and Northshore medical center. I would recommend Life care center.
